Wow Ram has a 500 mile Range 800 HP Electric Truck coming😳

Really? I can do better than that with my Ram 3500 pulling 25,000 lbs. And I can replenish the factory 74 gallon fuel capacity in a matter of minutes. But there are times when even that gets a bit tricky, as the fuel level start getting low and it's over 100 miles to the next station. Then I...

Diesel Tuner Gets Year In Prison

Around here, deer is most common, and year around, followed by elk which is a bit more seasonal. If there's a herd of over 60 of them, you pretty much have to stop. Now. Free range cattle is a distant third, being very seasonal. Besides, if you don't notice the cattle guards and/or signs, you...

Diesel Tuner Gets Year In Prison

Trailer brakes do indeed fail. Maybe not often, but it may only take once. Bought a used gooseneck 40' flatbed a while back, dragged it home some 150 miles on twisty and hilly roads...going a wee bit fast as usual. Well, got to a stop sign in town, almost home, and the stopping was nothing...

Diesel Tuner Gets Year In Prison

I kept my '14 for almost eight years. Sold it with just over 20K miles on it. Nice and practical car, but incredibly boring. If the weather is nice, and no small stuff needs to be transported, I much prefer driving something fun. And while the new 1500 is a lot more fun, there's a reason it...

Diesel Tuner Gets Year In Prison

Those 1/2-tons do ride softly. With the '14 I had I made it a point to go buy water (4-5 cases) in the daytime. If in the dark, the headlights were way off correct adjustment from "all that weight" and i didn't want to blind people with the improved headlights. The '21 1500 hasn't been...

    Challenger Tomahawk?

Because electricity won't work without a negative?

Thinking of an E.V. truck for towing?...think again

Looks like I'll be going on a 1,100 mile trip soon, towing a Challenger. Total weight should be a bit under 20,000 lbs., but wind resistance won;t be all that bad with a flatbed gooseneck and a car on it. Similar weight for the return trip. I figure it'll take me about 15 hours each way, with...

    NEW TOW RIGS

Did get a few new toys this year, but nothing that's good to tow with. By the way, did you guys know that they sell a receiver hitch for Challengers?

    Hellcat/Redeye Insurance

Not bad?!? If $166/mo isn't bad, I should be ecstatic about $52/mo. Yes, full coverage with higher limits. Frankly, if having to pay three times more, I'd probably reconsider having 10+ cars.

Diesel Tuner Gets Year In Prison

When you load it up with so many options that it costs upwards of $80K. Unfortunately, each one of those options also eats away at the available payload, making it less useful while costing more. By the way, this reminds me of when someone claimed that the only reason I bought a Tradesman Ram...

Diesel Tuner Gets Year In Prison

I lost all faith in the J2807 ratings after towing my little enclosed trailer over here as usual, except that time with an F-150 Ecoboost instead of my Ram 2500. I wasn't exactly looking forward to doing it with a 1/2-ton (based on prior experiences with light and short tow vehicles), but it...

Diesel Tuner Gets Year In Prison

I keep seeing the argument that "I tow so seldom that I don't need a safe or durable tow vehicle". To me, that's a bit like saying that I don't need to wear seat belts all the time because I crash so seldom. Also, I enjoy being in my 1-ton, and have even thought about getting a 4500 or 5500 to...

    Challenger Tomahawk?

I didn't watch the video, but is there also a sisterhood for the Chargers?

Diesel Tuner Gets Year In Prison

If you had lowered, especially the rears, to correct pressure for the weight (or lack thereof), that 2500 should've had a nice ride. Not squishy like a car with a bed on it (1500), but quite nice.

How many miles did your Hellcat have when you bought it?

With the GT, they simply drove it instead of transporting it. Not the end of the world since it's a basic V6, but still. The 'Cat was a different story. I could tell from the rear tires that the extra 34 miles were not easy ones. My dealer was not happy when I called him and he offered to...

How many miles did your Hellcat have when you bought it?

Oddly enough, the normal car buying places have come back with really low numbers. CarGurus offered the most, a little bit over Vroom, at $36,825. Carvana worst, at $32,847. Dealers have been about $34K to $36K. Meanwhile, NADA and KBB feels is should be about $38.5K. And this on a '21 that...

Diesel Tuner Gets Year In Prison

I'm not surprised. And I wouldn't try towing much more than an empty paper bag with a 1500.

Diesel Tuner Gets Year In Prison

I had my Pete for over 20 years, and still miss it. Of course, it was used for fun, not work. May take a trip to Iowa soon with the 3500, towing my small gooseneck with a car on it. If I drive as usual, those 1,100 miles will be at 10 mpg. But if it was a gasser it'd probably get 5.

How many miles did your Hellcat have when you bought it?

I'm also at four years with the 'Cat, which isn't a record, but longer than usual lately. We bought and sold about 10 vehicles in the past year. Anyway, my luck with dealer trades hasn't been great. The 'Cat was one, and after driving 450 miles with the trade to my dealer, then another 100 or...

How many miles did your Hellcat have when you bought it?

I like that. Keeps dealers from driving around and then selling what's essentially a used car as new.
