Stupid splitter guard deleted, tethered hood pins added. I put a couple of o-rings under the hitch pins to help keep them from sliding around... I read about that trick on the internet.
Roll cages and harnesses aren't road legal either, come with their own inherent risks, and are too tough to regulate. Game over... now none of us will have carbon fiber cars.
Put about 800kms on the car today. A total blast on the drive home to Ottawa from Windsor. It didn't even blink in the rain, such a nice road car.
Cleaned it up and tucked it away.
Gotta take that stupid splitter guard off.
Should have mine in a week or so. Ordered it right after I ordered the car. The stock shifter is actually pretty good - so I hope this is a night and day difference.
And if it does you have bigger issues to worry about, same if the oil cooler was full of contaminants; because all of that oil was circulating 2 minutes before you pulled the drain plug and your engine was just peachy with the other 98%.
How much depreciation loss can you expect on 10 months of use? I'd imagine you'll be looking at a pro-rated figure. You'll be better off taking the new engine and demanding an extended warranty as a show of good faith.
I guess if you want a little bit more, why not?
Hell - I am still pretty convinced you could pulley down and add a supplemental fuel system, and just keep going on making power on the stock tune as long as the IDC doesn't shut you down. This has worked on speed density systems for ages.
