Really scared myself in the Hellcat. Time to move on?

You haven't been there for a while, have you? When I started "commuting" between there and here, I quickly learned that I had to leave no later than 4 AM. That was 10 years ago, and I drove north of L.A.(101 and 210), not through it. Going back west there was no point in getting to the I-15/210...

Really scared myself in the Hellcat. Time to move on?

I've wondered about if I ever would've bought a 'Cat if I still lived in SoCal. Granted, we had nice canyon roads on the doorstep, but the rest...? Might as well have an elderly declawed cat for dealing with traffic and stoplights. Firearms? Ironically, there I really wanted them. Here I can...

Really scared myself in the Hellcat. Time to move on?

Aha, I knew there was a simple solution. I'm actually fairly good at herding cats...well, up to four at a time anyway. But I keep thinking about the old saying "It's more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slowly". It doesn't seem to apply to me. I may have to try driving the fast car...

You can almost smell burnt rubber by now, can't you, Pierre?

    Oil Life Remaining Indicator

Same with my diesel Ram. It also should have a change every six months, for reasons nobody seems to be able to explain. But after almost a year and a half (I don't drive that one often) the indicator was still quite content.

Really scared myself in the Hellcat. Time to move on?

Well, my main problem is that I go too fast in anything, including my Ram 3500 dually which always has some sort of trailer behind it. It's just not as fast as it would be in the 'Cat. Generally, it's probably in the 85-95% range of what the vehicle is capable of, as far as cornering goes...

Really scared myself in the Hellcat. Time to move on?

It was only two days ago that I almost made a New Years resolution to start driving slower. Ended up taking two 400-mile trips on consecutive days, and it tired me. Also, especially my right eye doesn't like it, because I don't blink much. I don't, subconsciously, because I want to fully...

    Oil Life Remaining Indicator

Hey, no using the owners manual. That's cheating. But speaking of, what I haven't found in the manual is how to make the radio station knob functional with the performance pages up on the screen. Maybe not a question for you, Rob, since in the Challenger it works fine. This problem is in my Jeep.

    The Official "I ordered" thread

Thanks, Tannehill. I did call, and it's still waiting for parts, apparently. As you pointed out, it can't be cause they're selling so many of them. It's more likely, I think, that they're working on solving some defect, but I haven't heard about anything along those lines. Anyway, I was...

    The Official "I ordered" thread

Looks like the two of you are close. I'm out of the race. Should call today and see if it's back in D again, or if they have thoughts about starting assembly. That rapid last order sure spoiled me.

    Hellcat Weight

I know. Should've bought one in a lighter color.

    Hellcat Weight

Checked the registration for my '18, which doesn't have the dually fenders or sunroof, but has the the automatic and dumb stereo stuff taking up space in the trunk: 4,353 it says.

    Mid size SUV help?

And then there's me. I can't even remember the last time I saw a vehicle before buying it, and many times without having seen photos. But those weren't "pre owned" vehicles, they were used. Many of them custom builds. Ones you can't buy new. Anyway, so far it has always worked out, and I've...

    Mid size SUV help?

True, it was most likely washed frequently, but was it driven short distances or until the fluids were actually warm? City, mixed, or mostly highway mileage? Dealer serviced or serviced correctly? Was it even remotely close to being broken in properly? Buying used could be a perfect example of...

    Mid size SUV help?

What if that someone else gave the vehicle a beating?

    Mid size SUV help?

Here you go, Mr. Brit. Fancy stuff, huh?

    Mid size SUV help?

Hmm. I looked a day or two ago, and all I found was a mediocre interest rate. I'll have to check again.

    Mid size SUV help?

I thought they looked larger than I had expected, until I saw that it's Hammond.

    Mid size SUV help?

I knew it sounded too good to be true. Oh well, at least my three are more practical. So there.
