Every time my girlfriend comes home after driving her RS6 Avant she says "This car is bat shit crazy!".
Yes, she really likes her Redeye, but has never said anything like that about it. About the closest would be when I took her for a ride in my 'Cat, then did a surprise 60-120.
That made her...
At Carvanas' palatial facility, cleansing the herd by getting rid of a multi-door.
Tomorrow I'll enjoy a drive to the bank in the new SXT, to deposit the check.
Meh. It's only been 7.5 months since I ordered, and not quite three since it was built. That has given me time to go from wanting the car to not wanting it, to maybe wanting it.
But I should probably start looking for tires that are good on snow and ice, so I'm prepared when/if it does show up...
This was the first vehicle I tried using the tracker for. Normally I wait for a call from the dealer if there's been a change in status code.
Having already read about people having had their vehicles delivered for a week or so while the tracker still said that it wasn't shipped yet made me...
Last I checked (which isn't often) it said "vehicle built" on 6-17. In real life it was on 4-21.
That tracker is about as useful as calling customer service, which I learned was utter nonsense and a waste of time with the '19 Redeye order. But we turned it into a fun sport in a thread on the...
It's in the Bud yard. And we did try fast tracking twice with the Redeye. If anything I think that just slowed things down even more.
I can just see the guys going "Oh, you think you're important, huh? Well, we'll show you."
Okay, maybe there's something to be said for being the squeaky wheel...
Yep, it's built and in the Bud yard, but if it doesn't catch a train it won't do me any good.
It's starting to look like the '19 Redeye that for whatever reason couldn't get on a train for quite a while.
Which is why I sold to Carvana instead of trading the Audi in on the Durango.
That cost me about $600, but with used car prices going down and no guarantee that the Durango will actually show up, I decided to play it safe. For a fee.
It has. I haven't been asked for a single photo of the car yet, and the cost of the pickup is still an unknown, but since their closest yard in about 160 miles away I suspect I'll be taking it there on a trailer.
Here it is, the first method being effortless, the second relying on the dealer's set of Race Ramps.
I prefer my way as it doesn't require a smooth concrete surface to work.
Just realized that we might have set a new record here, buying and selling four cars in 10 days.
Yes, the Q5 is going to Carvana. And the prior record was 11 in a year, about a year ago, if memory serves me.
Just got an email from Carvana about the value of a VW Sportwagen I didn't end up selling to them, maybe two years ago.
It's now worth $4,425 they say, but also estimate that it has 129,655 miles on it. Maybe it does? I sold it with under 2,000 miles for about $30K.
Oops. Had my cars mixed up...
I looked it up, and the nearest one is only 150 miles away.
Have got to the point that I don't unpack the 3500 or put the tie-down stuff away. Probably shouldn't park the trailer where it's usually blocked in, either.
Remind me to post photos of the easy way to load a car that has a mere...
Carvana is currently in the lead with my Q5, and by quite a bit. I'd technically get a little more (because of the tax credit) by trading it in on the ordered Durango.
But...that only works if the Durango ever shows up, and at this point I'm starting to doubt it. Besides, a $10K depreciation...
It's extra fun to see people try to merge in between the trailers when pulling doubles. Most are out of patience after the first trailer, some even before it.
