    The Official "I ordered" thread

She's partial to Granite. It matches her Porsches' Agate Gray. And, of course, her Redeye.

    The Official "I ordered" thread

Okay, my girlfriend just ordered a Trackhawk. It would be embarrassing if it shows up before Pierre gets his 'Cat.

Trackhawk is dead no more better grab one while you can

It just dawned on me that at least you get slotted rotors with a Trackhawk...unlike those measly Redeyes.

Yep, they put whatever on there, and ideally a full load. Your 'Cat will not ride in perfect company, unfortunately.

Trackhawk is dead no more better grab one while you can

I would think that the actual speed, and amount of passing (floored on 2-laners), is more influential than if it's a freeway or any other kind of road. Although, since I have yet to be able to maintain over 85 mph due to the break-in period, I can't speak for real life mileage at this point...

It's probably not all that many of them heading that far south, so logistics is likely the holdup. Hang in there, Pierre.

I knew I couldn't be the only one who likes driving like that. Well, minus the phone.

That's what I use to go around curves. Saves wear and tear on the steering components, but does decrease mileage a bit. Especially rear tire mileage.

Trackhawk is dead no more better grab one while you can

Hmm, I'm still in break-in hell and haven't been able to do much more than 85 mph, and certainly no full throttle fun, but the Lie-O-Meter claims 14.7 mpg now. It'll need fuel real soon, so then I'll have an actual mpg figure. The one thing that surely hurts mileage is the low gearing. It feels...

If the looks are more important than the performance, why don't we all drive V6 Challengers and Chargers? Besides, putting a set of those huge Hellcat logo stickers on the sides should take care of the "stands out" part. For cheap. I guess we have two completely different takes on this. On one...

Trackhawk is dead no more better grab one while you can

In our case, a first time Mopar owner (Redeye) is now about to trade in her '18 Porsche Macan Turbo for a Trackhawk. Why? She likes the larger cargo capacity, but the main reason is the Hellcat engine. She wouldn't give a Grand Cherokee a second thought if it wasn't for that engine. Atypical...

Trackhawk is dead no more better grab one while you can

This thread may just have cemented the deal. After me getting a Trackhawk, my girlfriend has been wanting to order one, too. Why do I like it? Because I can drive it when I can't drive the 'Cat. Another huge plus is that it looks (almost) like any other Grand Cherokee. Especially after removing...

How would I convince the wife I need a Red Eye?

Hmm. My wife left when she realized that the garage I was having built was going to be larger than the house.

How would I convince the wife I need a Red Eye?

It has happened a couple of times, but the funniest was when I sold a vehicle (maybe six months after buying it) and that was the first time my girlfriend noticed it. Always parked in plain sight, too. In all fairness, that one was camo. On the other hand, the other five I still have are OD...

How would I convince the wife I need a Red Eye?

At least I'm consistent. I prefer both Challengers and women to be narrow.

    Saving $$$ on Auto insurance

Hmm. I would have pegged the acceleration, cornering, and speeding graphs. In the wrong way, unfortunately. Well beyond "poor", to be specific. On the other hand, I'd have a good grade in braking (unless I see a cop too late, or deer/elk). Where I'd score big time is phone use. No time to talk...

    Saving $$$ on Auto insurance

Just got a letter from the insurance company that I had feared; the policy for the Trackhawk. Thankfully it wasn't bad at all, under $47 per month, with the highest chunk being collision with a 1K deductible.

    Saving $$$ on Auto insurance

Yeah, but these days we know what causes them, so it's fairly easy to avoid having any. From what I understand, kids are quite costly no matter what, not only when shopping insurance.

I still find it amusing that the '18 Challenger costs me less than the '14 Ram 1500.

    Saving $$$ on Auto insurance

If I had done that, somehow, in CA I would've saved a lot of money over the years. They probably stopped offering that option, though.
