I'd ask our resident weather guesser to send some rain your way if I were you. We could take a break here.
That much I can get done, since I use the indoor facilities, but painting, welding, etc. is harder/impossible when it rains.
Which it has done every afternoon and/or evening lately. But we need it.
We both know why. As mentioned above.
When cruising along at 95-plus, and not having to swerve for gators, the sound of the engine is all the sound you need.
I accidentally watched part of a race with electric race cars.
Turns out that instead of normal pit stops with fueling, tire changes, etc., the driver just hops into a new car.
So, if a team has 48 cars, and they don't break down or crash much, it's fully doable to win LeMans with "an" EV.
Come to think of it, the impact on the grid, for example, won't be nearly as big as it may sound. Same with the amount of charging stations needed.
Long before I fled, 12 years ago, I was already a minority in L.A. county, which isn't exactly a farming community.
For those who haven't enjoyed...
Acceleration from a standing start means very little to me.
But if I'm 250 miles from home and go to pass someone that's doing only 75 on a 2-lane road, I do not want the damn EV to sputter to a halt. Especially if still in the opposing lane.
Of course, if I had half a brain I wouldn't venture...
