WOW FORD ain’t backing down Holly Smokes

Well, much of the price differences can also depend on the area a dealer serves, in more than one way. Take a Ram 1500 for example, since you all know how fond I am of 1/2-tons. You can buy one for just under $36K, without incentives or rebates. Or, you can spend almost $78K on one that's a...

WOW FORD ain’t backing down Holly Smokes

Must be people's unwillingness to shop around, and/or buy from some other state. I've noticed that certain areas can have quite a bit higher pricing than others, and sometimes only 50 miles away other dealers are offering discounts.

WOW FORD ain’t backing down Holly Smokes

How the hell is that even possible? Are there no new ones to be had on the lots?

What did you do to your Hellcat today?

I suppose I could add that we have more expensive cars that do live outside, and if the 'Cat was it wouldn't have needed the free car wash. The ones outside are normally much cleaner as rain and snow cleanses them automatically. Meanwhile, the garaged ones get dusty, and the bug splatters don't...

What did you do to your Hellcat today?

No, mine doesn't either. And while I hate cold starting a car and then not getting it warmed up, it was so filthy that putting it outside for a while seemed like the thing to do.

WOW FORD ain’t backing down Holly Smokes

I know. Hardly a day goes by during tourist season (there's a lake and campground down the road) without my girlfriend mentioning some horrible towing setup she saw. The barn is close to the road so she sees a lot of the traffic. And it doesn't help that it's legal for anyone to tow doubles...

What did you do to your Hellcat today?

I suspect that many 'Cats have spent a day outside. Even in rain.

What did you do to your Hellcat today?

Speaking of washing, about two weeks ago the Dodge got a much needed (free) car wash. A full day of rain did the trick.

    Heat and overheating issue?

Sounds like it could use a system full of coolant (no air), not a lower temp thermostat.

WOW FORD ain’t backing down Holly Smokes

My girlfriend would strongly disagree with that. She probably wouldn't even tow someone else's horse trailer with only a dead parrot in it down the driveway. Okay, maybe a dead parrot, but nothing that's still alive. Heck, she had a Dodge diesel dually with a stick shift to pull her 2-horse...

WOW FORD ain’t backing down Holly Smokes

I did use an F-150 to pull my 16' enclosed trailer once, during the bi-weekly 1,000-mile commute period from L.A. to here. Of course I feared that the V6 wouldn't be up for the task, turbo or not. It was, and the little 1/2-ton handled the load fine (using weight distribution, of course). What...

WOW FORD ain’t backing down Holly Smokes

For someone who has never towed commercially, I probably have towed more than most. And have learned a few things along the way. It has ranged from quite a bit of flat towing the Jeep early on, to pulling doubles with the Peterbilt, and a lot in between. I can only guess, but it has to be at...

WOW FORD ain’t backing down Holly Smokes

Well, a tractor (as in tractor trailer) doesn't weigh all that much, about 15 to 20K, and they obviously pull 80K all day long. So basically both the tow vehicle and trailer weigh about twice as much as the Furd pulling 40K. But the sad part is that many believe those somewhat unrealistic J2807...

    Wow I just picked up a BRAPTOR😎

Kinda. The dealerships are not along the main drag, but a frontage road of sorts. Although, there's usually enough traffic that you get time to see what's on the lots...from about a 1/4 mile away.

    Wow I just picked up a BRAPTOR😎

Trooper, I kinda take that suggestion as an insult. Of course I don't. Well, even 1,650 isn't exactly small around here, but anyway, in real life Durango has a population of over 21,000. Hell, they must have well over 100 stop lights there. Most of which are red when I try to drive through.

    Wow I just picked up a BRAPTOR😎

Small town?!? Hey, Durango is a friggin' major metropolis. Well, for around here it is.

    Escalade V vs Durango Hellcat

Okay. But by now you know what causes those kids, right? Oh well, too late now.

Only six?!? How many split personalities are you??

Check fuses before replacing HID headlamps

For whatever reason, fuses not seated all the way seems common on FCA/Stellantis vehicles. When I get a new one I make sure that each and every one is fully seated, under the hood and under the dash.

Help me out: Red Eye information

Having chased VWs and Audis lately, I know the feeling. Either they are already sold, in transit, or about to get built. But they're all advertised on the dealers' web sites.
