I wonder if the GT500 guys we will wish they purchased this instead....Hmmmm C8 Corvette is here Wow!

Far be it from me to tell a guy how to spend his money - but I think you'll only need a muffler (delete): https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/c8-general-discussion/4302935-c8-exhaust-design.html

Much like these HCs, I don't believe there is going to be much gain in headers on the C8. Cam for sure.

Aftermarket parts - what works and what is a waste of cash?

I will I admit that our discussion the other day (and watching the Woman Driven BMR suspension vids on YouTube) prompted me to look closer at some stock parts, weakness, and start formulating solutions. Those so inclined to build their own parts should consider parts like...

Aftermarket parts - what works and what is a waste of cash?

You have to remember these cars are built to a price point, so the trade-offs are obvious in certain locations. Same with your aftermarket parts, a 10% increase in costs will chase off a lot of potential customers. $199 is a lot more appetizing than $219. Bolt-ons never are. I've been...

Who here remember outfitting your car with aftermarket audio

The last stereo install I did was a component system in my wagon. Built a custom hatch over the spare tire well with the amps mounted to its underside, and the nitrous bottle sits beneath them. The whole car has been "dynamatted" so it thunks and doesn't sound all tinny and rattley. The head...

I wonder if the GT500 guys we will wish they purchased this instead....Hmmmm C8 Corvette is here Wow!

I cannot fit my kids in the back of either car - so this is irrelevant to me. But, if I had a say - it would be the C8.

Hellcat widebody wheel widened to 12 inches with 345/30/20 tire. Will it fit.

Sure, it'll probably work maybe. Or maybe it'll look like sunken in garbage without a set of longer wheel studs and some hubcentric spacers. I dunno. YMMV.

    Check your torque wrench!

Yup, a lot more to it than just listening for "the beep". Different fasteners made of different materials in different sizes require different torque specs. It is almost like they stretch or something.

    I Can Taste The Butthurt...

I have, and have had, a full spectrum of cars: built to bought. Some built out junkyard and Chinesium parts, some built with good used parts, some built with the most premium of parts, and a brand new HC. Building from junk is the most rewarding and most frustrating - buying new also has it's...

    Even Better News!

I can feel the depth of the frost line in my basement - it feels pretty low since I am turning on my basement fireplace quite often as of late to compensate for the bone chilling cold down there.

    Even Better News!

They are calling for 15-20cm of snow on Wednesday... so yeah, that might still be an issue 30 days later. Also, I don't bring my stuff out until after the roads are washed clean in the Spring. Something something April showers...

Little Miss Revlon - Stock boost - 93 Octane 10.16 at 135.8 MPH

Pfft. Impossible. No one knows how to tune their own cars or transmissions. I am calling BS. [kidding] Nicely done.

    I Can Taste The Butthurt...

I'd be lying if I didn't say building my LS-swapped cars was way more engaging than buying the HC; as for cheaper - that's going to be debatable in the long run. Both have their merits. But, the grease under my nails is pure horsepower credibility.

    Check your torque wrench!

Make sure your threads are clean and/or unlubricated; if dirty or lubricated adjust accordingly. Don't just assume the tool is out of calibration, it could be procedural.

    I Can Taste The Butthurt...

Yeah, the start-up tune has some IAC adjustment required (wrote a complete tune last night), and a stiffer spring is also needed in the BOV - that should quiet things down a hair.

Hey, I strongly identify with that statement! Finally put some coolant in it and got it up to temp on Tuesday:

We're seeing HCs swapped into Miatas, Grand Nationals, and Mercedeseseses... But, if buddy has put a turbo LS into a Challenger and has gone low-10s - well the results speak for themselves.

...wait that sounds kinda gross. Nevermind. Here's another take on a Challenger: https://www.hotrod.com/articles/turbo-ls-swap-dodge-challenger-beats-hellcats/?sm_id=organic_fb_HRN_trueanthem&utm_campaign=&utm_medium=&utm_source= Strange duck.
