What did you do to your Hellcat today?

Finally got around to pulling a few plugs this morning. I had expected them to be black, i get a lot of soot on the rear of the car and the exhaust pipes are black. I have never seen this car smoke and it has not used a drop of oil in 4k miles. Much to my surprise the plugs look great. Now i am thinking what i see on the back of the car may be brake dust. Those look ok to me, but I hate trying to read plugs, I always second guess myself and seem to get it wrong.


Reading 2-stroke plugs is even worse .

My dad bought a T/A this summer and we put the z26's on it. The stock brakes were way to grippy for him. He likes the z26s much better

Exactly me too. Love the softer grip and feel of the PS pads. As important? With mine anyway, seems like they treat the rotors (on the street) so well they are certainly going to last as long as I am going to need that combo.

I HATE the feel of my brakes (massive quick grip, noise with light braking and massive dust) when I change over to the Hawk big boy pads for road racing. I drove the SRT Durango last night for the first time after driving our Grand with stock brakes for a couple of weeks in the winter up here. It HAS the PS pads on it also. Felt MORE grippy to me, must just be the big SRT brakes making that difference, my butt is that sensitive to brake feel.

Entirely normal. The black pipes? Carbon and other particulates actually condense on our relatively cold exhaust system. Ever see any of our pictures of liquid black soot on the garage floor. I call that Cat Piss. Converters produce some H2O and along with this soot shit & it drops out before coating the pipes.

Got front brake pads off, everything cleaned up again. Waiting on amazon to bring new Z26 pads today. Rotor measured 1.340" so 34.036 mm

Pads were delayed yesterday, hopefully they come today.
I do enjoy working on it, but not quiet as much as i do riding in it ! All that cleaning brake dust was cutting into my riding time.

Power Stop pads came today, Got them on and bedded them, went for a 30 min drive on the interstate then bedded them again an 30 min back home. I cut a small piece of brass rod 1.5" long an held it with a set of small vise grips worked perfect for reinstalling those rear pins. I like the way the peddle feels much better than with the old pads. The old pads were just to sensitive for my liking.

I saw just a little dust after 2 beddings, clean rims, drove all over town yesterday afternoon an still have not seen any more dust ! That's just unbelievable.

Normal driving will produce almost zero dust, only enough to barely see on a detailing cloth.

I'm anal ...about how my vehicle looks..(as you are)...before I installed my pads..I would down shift to avoid using my brakes...(the dust drove me CRAZY)...I was shocked @ the difference...best money I ever spent on my Cats....

Hmm, downshifting and being in the correct gear for the speed is a novel concept.

My crystal ball must've informed about my future Peterbilt purchases when I first started driving.

Or, maybe it became second nature to be in the correct gear due the hundreds of miles I ended up driving without brakes back then. And again more recently, now with 18 gears to choose from.

been there done the "without brakes thing"...challenging..sometimes terrifying....but NOTHING gives you a greater sense of the driving experience....

Put the clunky stock wheels back on, to serve as jack stands while I'm mounting new tires on the good wheels.

And it does look like the brakes are still in decent shape, at least there's enough left for next summer's driving.
