Yes, I think the cap is too thin to tap, and if you weld on a plate it's the same as welding on a SS bung really.

I looked at just getting some 2018 and up fuel rails (I think they all have the schrader on them) but they're like $300 or $400 and I had a spare set of 2016 rails laying around to play with. Wish mine had come with that valve from the factory.

Nice thing on the Redeye, there's already a AN4 schrader valve there. Got a hose from a fuel pressure tester pigtail with the AN4 and schrader depress on one connection, 1/4 NPT on the other, then a 3' hose with 1/4 NPT for draining. Have a relay switch to pop into the fuse block to control the on/off. Pumps out the fuel in about 5 mins for an easy change between 93 and HO and back at the track. I believe the fuel rail is interchangeable, change out with a redeye one is another option - of course could cost more.

Picture please

Oh, well shit, you're not going to drain 10 gallons of gas through that thing in anything less than 8 hours...

I bet it'd surprise you. Like I mentioned you have to keep a certain amount of pressure in the rails, so only so much fluid can flow while maintaining that pressure. My bung is 6AN and I drilled a 3/8" hole for the step to weld to which is likely too large to maintain the required pressure so I'm going to put a restrictor in my drain line when I put it together. Assuming we can get the dang thing welded.

here’s the schrader under the fuel rail cover on driver side, along with the hoses and relay switch. Hook it up, pop in the relay switch, turn it on and it pumps out half a tank a little over five mins or so. 96311DEC-690A-4B5D-B27D-E811DA0382C6.jpeg 581A4F58-98B9-4B1E-9A44-FE8C7DB0FADB.jpeg

Source of the Relay-switch?

After the first attempt and finding pin holes during pressure tests, I gave it back to Crew Chief Greg to fix it. I haven't seen him in a couple weeks though so we'll see how it goes.
