I'm pretty sure I've already given him crap about those cheesy maintainers (that don't even have desulfation), so it's really more of a reminder for him. And a public service announcement for the rest of you.
And now that you mentioned it, I kept it in 3rd gear on the autocross and 3rd for almost all of the longer track. Only on the longest straight was 4th needed.
Didn't want any auto shifts at the wrong moment, and using the paddles is easier said than done in sharp curves.
Sure, but many things in life are unpredictable. For me it's easier to predict if traction will be compromised (and what the car will do) than if there's elk on the road around the corner, or if there will be oncoming traffic when passing someone.
I'm not willing to limit my driving to summer...
Speaking of ECO freak mode, what setting do you normally use when racing, DGatzby?
I'm sure you've mentioned it at some point, but I forgot. Anyway, at Radford the instructor told me to try turning all the nannies off on the autocross course. I did, and couldn't really notice any difference...
I think you're underestimating what a car can do in lower temps. For me it's very rare that it's over 40 degrees when I take off in the morning, usually it's in the 30s. And it doesn't get any warmer as I gain altitude.
Of course, coming home it's usually in the 70s.
If memory serves me I didn't get a black key with my '23.
Of course, that didn't bother me one bit since I've never used anything but the red keys. In the vehicles that come with them that is. The TRXs only get black keys.
Maybe put a black cover on one of the red ones?
Was that one of the instructors, or possibly the new guy in sales? Maybe the receptionist?
And I noticed that they have a couple of 392s, used as skid cars.
I seriously doubt it could be harmful for the car.
If the driver voluntarily selected Eco mode, that's a different story. He may already be beyond help and should be escorted into a Camry.
It was great fun. Did it almost on a whim after getting an email offering 25% off.
Of course, I knew I wanted to go back at some point - while they still have Challengers. No way would I enjoy it nearly as much if driving some oversized converted EV. They hadn't tracked one yet so I don't know...
I've been checking those bolts as part of the initial new vehicle check (fluid levels, fastener tightness, etc.) since '20 or so. Haven't found any truly loose ones yet, but knew that it's not unheard of.
Low fluid levels (except on Durangos) is pretty much standard, and unevenly torqued lug...
Kubota batteries are supposedly very good. My early '10 M6040 is still on its original battery.
It does have a permanent Canadus desulfation unit attached, but the '13 L3800 has never had anything special done with the battery and is also on its OE battery.
