Looking to buy a trailer and need feedback.

So I see some nice aluminum ramps attached to trailer doors here. Any you could recommend? While the 4" taller than stock trailer makes the door of the Cat clear the fender, the rear door has nowhere near the correct approach angle, and even the breakover angle is much too high. Need about 8"...

Looking to buy a trailer and need feedback.

I don't like towing with a 1/2-ton at all, but if I must, this is about the upper limit.

    Hurricane Superbird and Daytona

Hmm, maybe you should come over here and drive around a bit. Then when you drop back down a couple thousand feet your car will feel like a rocket. For a while anyway. Besides, I can assure you that there's no 100 hp loss here. If it were, some of my vehicles would have negative hp numbers.

Yes, now I remember that you were part of that mess. Still wouldn't make me move east, though, but maybe to a less fire prone area out here in the west.

Sounds like you're either in an area with lots of trees and/or brush, or where houses are very close together. If so, it doesn't matter all that much where in the country you are, fire can spread easily. This place is like asbestos compared to what I'm used to, and it's rarely windy in the...

    Hurricane Superbird and Daytona

Much like I still expect to find rattlesnakes under a piece of plywood, the thoughts about fire hasn't gone away, either. For example, I know what order I'd (try to) get cars out of the garage if there's a fire in there. And the order is not based on what they are worth, but what they mean to...

    Hellcat broken into, Questions

You'd think that the giant cat skull decals would've scared any potential thieves off.

Appreciate the offer. I'll be in touch. By the way, I'm not worried about Ruger, Sig, Colt, or Mossberg. It's the alligators I wan't nothing to do with.

Did you ever buy something you don't need..but the deal is too good to pass up

Let's see...there's a push mower in the shed, and a riding mower in the barn. But that's irrelevant since I don't use either of them. It's the 5, 6, and 10-foot mowers I use, and if I could run the 6-footer with the 10 I would. Whatever that has to do with pickups and DavidKFla's alligator...

Did you ever buy something you don't need..but the deal is too good to pass up

When so many claimed that they spent some 50% of their mileage off road, I started keeping track of my Jeep's road vs. trail percentage. Well, in my case the trail mileage was a disappointingly low 10% or so. That's with a vehicle that was built specifically for trail usage and always trailered...

Did you ever buy something you don't need..but the deal is too good to pass up

I got some leeway here, not having a wife and not wearing a watch. Also in my favor is that I only have one pickup. The 3500 has a flatbed. Oh, the M1008 used to be a pickup, but while I still have the bed, it was removed years ago. Now, my girlfriend not only has lots of watches, but also two...

If I ever get so old that I want to move to Florida, I suppose zero would be unbearable. But by then there's no way I'd be able to outrun a gator. Can't win.

Other than using the heated steering wheel, how do you prepare for (and survive) such brutally low temps??
