SRT Design Boss Wants Dodge Challenger and Charger Owners to Take Off Their Splitter Guards

I have no personal experience since I removed my protectors as soon as I got the car off the trailer. But I've read many accounts of people having scratched splitters once the protectors are removed. Which makes sense to me, especially after seeing all the dirt already underneath mine when...

SRT Design Boss Wants Dodge Challenger and Charger Owners to Take Off Their Splitter Guards

Why did I post "that nonsense" about the Demon being speed limited? Because I knew about it. Otherwise pointing out that a flexible splitter may work on a Demon wouldn't have made any sense. Or maybe it doesn't anyway? I thought it did. Anyway, normally I keep it below 120 or so, and 160 is...

SRT Design Boss Wants Dodge Challenger and Charger Owners to Take Off Their Splitter Guards

I was well aware of that, but unfortunately it doesn't make a flexible splitter any more feasible on a Demon. On the contrary. Either way, if the splitter is indeed designed wrong as you stated, I would love to have one that's even more effective. And there's probably a market for such a thing...

SRT Design Boss Wants Dodge Challenger and Charger Owners to Take Off Their Splitter Guards

Maybe pliable rubber could work on a Demon with it's relatively low top speed, but I wouldn't want the splitter to start flopping in the "breeze" when approaching Hellcat top speeds. I'm fairly certain that the splitters are not pliable, and shaped and placed where they are, for a reason.

Pissed off beyond belief (vent)... and dash question

And here I never had any interest in cloning...until you pointed out the ultimate reason.

To them it's probably a bit like if daVinci saw Mona Lisa with a mustache added.

I understand your position on this, but, you have an unfair advantage. You can happily drive along without having to see the dang things, but what about the rest of us that can't look away fast enough?!?

I dunno. FCA made the choice for me.

    The Official "I ordered" thread

We're friends, and it was worse for him than for us. Ended up ordering a second one once the initial order was confirmed AWOL, so he got stuck with the original car, in a very small town. I felt sorry for him.

What car would ever make you ever consider trading in the Hellcat?

It just so happens that there's a new (never sold) Porsche 918 in Colorado Springs. With a rating of 67 mpg, it may work for you?

    The Official "I ordered" thread

That's good, it must have improved then. I got all kinds of false info from chat, but the dealer had the actual facts. Not that they were the facts I wanted to hear.. That was about a year ago, and that infamous order was shipped three times according to chat. When the car finally showed up at...

    The Official "I ordered" thread

Does it seem like the accuracy of what chat claims has improved any? Not that it could've become worse, but I am curious.

What was your first Hellcat mod?

First: Removed the splitter guards, shortly followed by debadging. Then better tires and (I think) nicer wheels. After that, tinted and driven.

Do you apply tire shine after each wash?

Wiping on solves one issue. And if you find one tire manufacturer that isn't against tire goop, I'm willing to change my view on how the goop affects the chemicals built into the tires. A little. Maybe. Actually, not driving on them can kill them faster than driving, as those chemicals won't...

    Enclosed trailer for hellcat

Does anyone know the official breakover angle of a Hellcat? I haven't been able to find it, and don't know if I should trust my own 10 degree measurement. Need to figure out how much the ramp door needs to be raised off the ground for the bottom of the car to clear.

Yellow splitter guard removal 2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody

Maybe it didn't have a protector on the right side, and would've been just fine if it had it?

If you helped beautify the world for the cost of a T-shirt, it was well worth it.

    Regular Hellcat or Redeye?

I'm trying to get down to 15, or so, which is why I should sell the Super Seven, Bugeye, and a couple of MGBs. Since I don't get to drive all that much, spreading it between several vehicles makes it worse - to the point that I had to put StaBil in my "daily driver".

    Regular Hellcat or Redeye?

They can be driven slowly?!? Please, don't let my girlfriend know that. Anyway, I won't be looking at any more Challengers, Eric, two is plenty for us. Plus, we're out of garage space now. I need to sell several cars and not just for that reason. But when you do get up here, you can get some...

    Regular Hellcat or Redeye?

Interestingly enough, yesterday I commented on how much quieter the Redeye is than my Hellcat, as my girlfriend came home from shopping. She claims it just purrs, and doesn't need to be loud and obnoxious since it's quicker and faster than mine. I have yet to drive it after it got broken in...
