    No oil changes...

That looks like Seventies Pennzoil after 840 miles. Hmm, that's only 460 miles per day in six months...maybe I should start adhering to the 6-month rule?

    The Official "I ordered" thread

Got this from the dealer this morning. Looks like it's intact.

    The Official "I ordered" thread

On the trip for the pickup, it was miserable going there, especially through and north of Durango. By the time I got there the road crews had woke up and done their thing. On the return it was all dry, so the new pickup stayed clean. This time I'm going through Shiprock instead, hoping to avoid...

    The Official "I ordered" thread

Thanks, Eric! I'm just going to have to hope for the best...or take yet another trip without functional headlights, in which case I could leave Friday. What I'm hoping to avoid is having to hose magnesium chloride off both the 3500 and trailer, as seen in this photo from after having picked up...

    The Official "I ordered" thread

Thanks, Eric, I thought about that but didn't want to bug you. It's in Richfield, UT, so going through Moab. I may have to make this a 2-day trip, by the way, as we'll try to add the sales code for HID headlights to the 3500 while at the only dealership I trust. And it always takes me "forever"...

    The Official "I ordered" thread

I got the trailer ready, but need to do an oil change on the tow vehicle and install better headlight bulbs. Those bulbs were supposedly shipped today, and then it's a matter of weather, minimizing the driving in salt. Or worse, magnesium chloride. I'll be looking at the 10-day and pick the...

Dealer hasn’t been draining my oil cooler

Smart. That way they can always claim that it's the next guy's job and avoid doing it themselves. Even supports my theory about neglecting the 6-month rule; I'll change the oil and filter every other oil change.

    The Official "I ordered" thread

Wow, my car is at the dealer already! Only one month and five days from when I called and ordered it. What a difference from the Challenger waiting game.

Dealer hasn’t been draining my oil cooler

Update: When I changed the oil recently, I did remember to pull the cooler's drain before removing the filter, and a lot more oil came out that way. Pan, cooler, and then filter, will be my preferred order from now on.

How many of you follow the owners manual "New" car break in rules?

Boring as it is (and sometimes a bit complicated from a logistical standpoint), I treat them like any new gear set should be broken in. I've had too many gear issues in the past to chance it. While I'm looking forward to picking up the Trackhawk next week, the first 100 miles will be time...

How many have driven the Tail of the Dragon?

I was fortunate enough to live along Latigo Canyon Rd. in SoCal for quite a while. Only 166 turns in 10 miles, but many really good ones. Great fun until the bicyclists took over.

    Trailer Park Demon lol!

They managed to steal the crate, too?!?

    Whats your worst wrenching mistake?

I have some of it, pulled out of tires.

    Whats your worst wrenching mistake?

If you insist. I had replaced a small bolt that held the front brake to the fork, because the old one "didn't look good". The following day I took a friend down a dirt road I knew very well, and which had a wooden bridge at the end of a long straightaway. I'd learned to utilize the first...

How many miles on your Hellcat, Daily Driver or Garage Queen?

I can relate to that. My "daily driver", a '14 Ram 1500, recently broke 20,000 miles. The '17 Ram 3500 tow vehicle is catching up, now at 13,000, and it'll get another 1,000 on it when I go pick up the new, second, "daily driver" Trackhawk in a week or so. I amazed myself by putting some 2,000...

    Whats your worst wrenching mistake?

There are many advantages to not having to push the clutch in...but sometimes the nut behind the wheel needs all the help he can get. And in my case above I wasn't even behind the wheel.

Jacking up a Challenger from the front with a floor jack

I don't think your snow is that different from our snow, and snow doesn't seem to hurt it. Humidity is thankfully something we don't have much of, so rust really doesn't happen here, although that's likely more due to a lack of oxygen. I keep the motor covered so rain and snow doesn't get...

    Whats your worst wrenching mistake?

More not-so-good memories: Fiddled with something electrical on my Jeep one morning, in a rush to head out for a trail ride. Reached in and hit the starter button, just to turn the engine a hair, or hear it click. Sure enough, without any choke, the engine fired instantly. I got the Jeep...

    The Official "I ordered" thread

I'm amazed. At least in the building and shipping department, a Trackhawk is apparently faster and quicker than a Challenger. Today I found out that my li'l red wagon arrived in Salt Lake City yesterday, which is exactly one month since I called and ordered it. Gotta get my butt in gear and...

Jacking up a Challenger from the front with a floor jack

That shouldn't stop you. I put my 4-post outside. It's not supposed to be, according to the instructions, but has made it for about five years, so far.
