    2019 Challenger Redeye

That same myth is popular with Ram pickup batteries, too. If there are no removable tops (maintenance free), the battery somehow becomes an AGM type.

    Dangerous incident today - tires

Did you notice that they made an assumption when decoding the "439" manufacturing date, saying that it means the 43rd week of '99 ? It may not matter much now, but 20 years ago it could. That tire could have been made in '89, or even '79, and that was the problem with using only three digits.

    Dangerous incident today - tires

It's been a 4-digit code on all tires since 2000, if memory serves me. There's a some interesting info in the factory codes, too, such as what plant the tire was made at.

    Dangerous incident today - tires

Unfortunately, yes. But tires become NOS quicker than most other vehicles parts. And it's not only tire sellers. Many people these days call something "new" as long as it still looks good and works.

    Dangerous incident today - tires

Every now and then I buy from Tire Rack, and when I do I always ask how fresh or old their inventory is. The place is too big for anyone to go check, but when they say "It's a popular tire/size" I know they won't be too old. So far it has worked out. Smaller outlets are usually even easier to...

    Dangerous incident today - tires

They were not an option when I looked around in mid '18.

    Dangerous incident today - tires

You've got some meaningful gonads having driven on those. I recently replaced a set of tires that came on a Jeep I bought. They looked near perfect, as they should with only some 15,000 miles on them. So why replace them? Because they were original, on a 2008. And I really only drive that one...

    Dangerous incident today - tires

Are you saying that you paid good money for tires that were already four to five years old?

    Dangerous incident today - tires

Wow. I'm amazed that the tire held air with the liner that severely damaged.

How many people daily a cat?

Good, you're on the right track, 1971. Now mosey on over and we'll get you up to speed. So to speak.

    Dangerous incident today - tires

That inside shoulder wear only indicates that you don't take curves and corners anywhere near fast enough.

You should stop by here some day and we'll go get the carbon blown out of your poor engine.

Huh? Don't you hit the rev limiter staying in 4th?!?

How many people daily a cat?

Not quite. I can only go about 2,000 miles without stopping for fuel. And stopping, and getting going again, pretty much involves using the clutch. Of course, if I slowed down a bit, I might make it all the way without getting more fuel. Although, there's most likely some pesky stop sign or...

How many people daily a cat?

Fastest, or quickest? Either way, the non-synchro 18-speed in my Pete satisfies my shifting needs. Yep. Hardly any Corona crap, friendly cops, and, well, just really nice. At least I like it.

How many people daily a cat?

There is, and nice twisties, too. To put it in perspective, it's almost 70 miles to the nearest stop light...and one stop sign right by the house along the way there. Wouldn't want it any other way.

I would be mad at that performance robbing stick, too.

How many people daily a cat?

That might have something to do with it. Not that she drives slowly by any means. When she comes home today I'll ask, and generally the answer is somewhere between 100 and 130. But those aren't sustained speeds, like I tend to do, and she doesn't pass nearly as aggressively as I do. EDIT: My...

    Production

It seems to me that the dealers' 6-8 week predictions are generally quite optimistic. And that's with the plants open.

    Another oil change

Ah, yes, the three stages of oil's life. Stage 1: On the dealer's lot the oil remains perfect indefinitely. Stage 2: With the papers signed the oil goes bad at or before six months. Stage 3: Once out of warranty, the oil's life expectancy reverts back to Stage 1.
