But you can charge them for free! All it takes is a minor investment of a few tens of thousands of dollars, for solar and/or wind, and a bunch of batteries. Or. bypass your electric meter.

While I definitely wouldn't want an electric car or pickup, I could see having an electric tractor, if it became necessary to have some sort of EV. With that I couldn't be much more than a 1/4 mile from the garage when it dies, so it would be easy enough to go retrieve it and plug the umbilical...

I get that this EV stuff can work for some. And if 25 miles per day is all it takes, more power to you (or from us, as the case may be since we subsidize it). In theory, those 25 miles per day would be plenty for us, too, but the problems start when 300+ miles is needed every three weeks or so...

It would be much better for me if they charge by how much time I spend driving instead. That way I'd get both the enjoyment of driving fast, and lower costs.

I can't help but wonder what the guys that were waiting for their Bugattis to come ashore think about EVs. VW ones in particular. That one sure didn't do much to help save the planet. Not that any of them do.

I'm quite surprised that Stellantis (indirectly, but still) haven't sent me to the grave yet. But that has more to do with how I drive when having over 700 hp on tap than anything else. Of course, I'd be even more likely to die in an EV. From boredom.

I don't think it's about the quantity of vehicles bought, but the quality. I know I've bought well over 150, but I still have a clean record...not a single Furd or electric vehicle. Unless you count the John Deere eGator I bought for dirt cheap on a whim. I call it "the Prius" as it's as close...
