High Tech EV Doesn't Solve The Charging Problem

In my case the negativity is based on that an EV just plain would not work for us. Other than to go to the nearby post office, and to NAPA once a month or so to get some unexpectedly needed part it'd just sit there with a cord attached. Having too many vehicles already, adding an EV for that...

High Tech EV Doesn't Solve The Charging Problem

Well, I got paid four times that much for driving my Trackhawk for about a year and a half. And avoided the dread of being in an EV in the process.

Does the warranty cover physical damage?

High Tech EV Doesn't Solve The Charging Problem

That battery didn't die from old age, but something happened to it. And it doesn't take much damage to put the whole thing out of commission.

High Tech EV Doesn't Solve The Charging Problem

Meanwhile, apparently a new battery for a Taycan is about $73K. But that does include installation.

High Tech EV Doesn't Solve The Charging Problem

Their unfortunate approach has been well known for quite a while, which is partially why we've "hoarded" vehicles with 6.2s. And I'll pick up a fifth one this week. If, God forbid, this EV nonsense keeps going against all odds, we should have enough fun vehicles to last us for a while. And if...

High Tech EV Doesn't Solve The Charging Problem

So in six or seven years they will have invented fully useful and safe batteries, found ways to create the needed electricity, and built the infrastructure to supply it? If I had to guess, it's far more likely that in six or seven years even the die hard greeinies will have realized that this...

High Tech EV Doesn't Solve The Charging Problem

If that is better or not depends on your conscience. A lot of people are perfectly fine with living off the government gravy train. Others can see the forest despite the trees.

High Tech EV Doesn't Solve The Charging Problem

Bet you'd prefer 95 and rain over -10 or -20. And the battery definitely would.

High Tech EV Doesn't Solve The Charging Problem

I'm glad I'm able to help pay for your EVs, but in my case someone would have to pay me to have one. And even if I somehow got paid $250/mo.,with everything paid for (insurance, registration, charging, tires, all of it), I still wouldn't want a vehicle that's useless to me. Soulless and...

What did you do to your Hellcat today?

Have to admit that I haven't seen anyone measure the elevation in inches until now. Not even people in Florida do that.

High Tech EV Doesn't Solve The Charging Problem

No, that's extremely unlikely unless you trailered your EV to here. But even if you did, and have some juice in the battery, there are no stoplights around here. In other words, Hellcat for the win no matter how you look at it. Not to kick you while you're down, but how bad does someone's...

    2024 Dodge Charger ev specs

Not worrying about the humiliation factor, being seen in one? Besides, here the cops would wonder why such a thing is abandoned on the slope next to the road (we don't have shoulders, generally). Until the notice it's an EV and utterly useless around here.

All you EV fans - Colorado now offering a combination of 26500 towards EVs.

It sure is. I'm now working on my second million...since I couldn't make the first one happen.

    FS '23 Durango Hellcat

Looks like I need to humbly retract all the bad words I've used to describe the Dodge tracker.Turns out it is more truthful and influential than I thought. With the car unloaded at the train yard on 8-3, I fully expected it to arrive at the dealer two days later. Every one has got there in two...

Looking to buy a trailer and need feedback.

The peak voltage is dependent on the electronics involved, more so than if it's a battery maintainer, solar, or alternator, supplying the power.

Looking to buy a trailer and need feedback.

I've had good luck with Renogy controllers. One of them even lets me pick between 12 and 24 Volts.

They're working on that, south of Colorado Springs.

Hail the Coloradians! No,wait, that didn't come out right. They already get plenty of hail.

Questions for those of you that trailer your Cats

Not having compared rotor sizes, I know from experience that a 2500 has more effective brakes than a 1500. Also, it's really rare that I use the brakes on my 3500, except when coming to a complete stop, since the exhaust brake handles up to 39,000 lbs. GCVWR even on grades exceeding 8% just...
