What did you do to your Hellcat today?

Well, yes. But with gravel on top. Mostly.

What did you do to your Hellcat today?

Maybe so, but the rainwater is nice and clean and won't leave any spots when it dries. That can't be said for our tap water, which makes it near impossible to wash a car without God's help.

I guess it helps if the rainwater is clean. Which ours is.

High Tech EV Doesn't Solve The Charging Problem

I beg to differ when it comes to safety and small cars. Having driven plenty of them, including the original Fiat 500s and various small sports cars, my safety depended on my ability to drive. Their much lower weight allowed maneuvers that just aren't possible with heavy vehicles. Sure, if...

High Tech EV Doesn't Solve The Charging Problem

Alright, you crave math. Here's some. Let's pretend that an EV would indeed be functional here, and someone gave me one. Since it'd be a relatively inexpensive car I'm guessing it'd cost me about $40 per month to insure. For the purpose of this discussion, that will be the only cost associated...

High Tech EV Doesn't Solve The Charging Problem

Somebody please refresh my memory here. Didn't ChargerChallenger, who owns a crap load of bitchin' vehicles, try an EV? A Lighting I think. As I recall, he gave up on that one in a few weeks, despite living in a populated area and driving on major routes.

High Tech EV Doesn't Solve The Charging Problem

You peg my dislike (based on perfectly logical reasons) as hate. Okay, that's probably the woke thing to do. But now that you mention it...I don't know my standing here. As far as I know I'm merely an unpaid member who speaks my mind, and hasn't been banned yet. Then again, I also know that I...

High Tech EV Doesn't Solve The Charging Problem

No, I hate flying and would never have any kind of aircraft. And we're down to one residence. And thankfully it's far from the areas where the EV fanatics could be encountered. But as an aside, this happens to be "Hellcat Forum Org.", not some greenie site, so maybe you should have expected a...

High Tech EV Doesn't Solve The Charging Problem

Actually, unlike EVs, not a single vehicle of ours is ugly. Okay, some look better than others, but none of them are appliance like.

High Tech EV Doesn't Solve The Charging Problem

You're unfortunately far from the only one who can't see the forest for the trees, and lack the integrity to say no to handouts.

High Tech EV Doesn't Solve The Charging Problem

Thanks, we will keep enjoying our two Challenger Hellcats, the two TRXs, and the two Ram 3500s. And my girlfriend is quite content with her one remaining Porsche and the RS6 Avant. Heck, she even likes her Audi Q8, and I really like my Challenger GT AWD, too. And there's more, but I won't bore...

High Tech EV Doesn't Solve The Charging Problem

I normally get about 22 mpg with my 'Cat. My girlfriend, driving a bit slower (under 100, usually) and less aggressively in her Redeye, always gets a bit over 24. Whatever that costs in gas is almost irrelevant. Even if gas was $10 per gallon, they're enjoyable to drive and that's what counts...

High Tech EV Doesn't Solve The Charging Problem

And I apparently don't know how to explain that an EV (not towing) with an actual 400 mile range would not be usable around here. THERE ARE EXTREMELY FEW PLACES TO CHARGE ONE, WITHIN HUNDREDS OF MILES IN ANY DIRECTION. Add to that the noticeable elevation changes and normal speed being 80 or...

High Tech EV Doesn't Solve The Charging Problem

It was 900 miles round trip, with an about three hour stop to buy and load the car on the trailer, then about 15 minutes to fill all three tanks. Also, had to stop six times at stoplights and twice at stop signs. Not that I would tow anything with a 1/2-ton, but the latter should be an...

    FS '23 Durango Hellcat

If the auto dimming headlights don't work is something I'd never know. Everything automated that can be disabled in settings is, before driving a car for the first time. Did notice that one front corner of the hood needs to be adjusted up about an 1/8", which is easy enough. Unlike the...

    FS '23 Durango Hellcat

Thanks, I'll check. Already know that it has the 3rd seat I don't want, and the sunroof I don't want. Those are part of the $6K Plus package...that I didn't want. Didn't add a single option, but I'll dig up the build sheet and see what all it's supposed to have.

    FS '23 Durango Hellcat

It's home, finally. I like it more than I thought I would, and it was very nice to see only 18 miles on the odometer. I'd expected quite a bit more, and those 18 include the seven miles that the dealer had to drive it (yes, they have to these days). He even called and asked my permission...

High Tech EV Doesn't Solve The Charging Problem

First trip with the 3500 with the auxiliary tank installed. Made it almost 500 miles before that 40-gallon tank was empty and it started to draw from the factory 74 gallons. Stopped at an affordable fuel station on the way back, and it felt a bit odd to fill up when the distance to empty still...

    Hellcat Swapped Side by Side?

Whoa! That would eliminate several "things" I've put together for pure enjoyment. Some may call it a death wish, but they've been both memorable and fun. Even though the one thing they had in common was trying to kill me every time I drove them.

What did you do to your Hellcat today?

Most everything from China is temporary.
