Wiper blade replacements

So I know many do not daily their cars or let them see precip...but for those of us who do, have you had to replace your wiper blades?

The dealer charges $40 per side for the the replacements, which include the frame and blade insert. I'm on my 3rd set now, so after I popped on the new ones I went and checked my local auto parts store and they same they don't really stock just the blade inserts anymore, the whole assembly being sold is becoming very common apparently.

Anyone else dealt with this? Maybe I need to do some better scavenger hunting...

I’ve never found just the blade inserts for any of our current vehicles.

I really like Bosch Icons. I can usually find a bogo 1/2 off sale. About $40 for both sides.

Funny this would pop up. I just changed the blades on my Ram 2500 yesterday. My HC doesn’t have wipers anymore. I did the Amazon replacement. Removing the OE’s was ridiculous. They have some hidden little mfr in the latch that won’t let you release them from the J hook. I have no doubt that is to make the average person go to the dealer and spend $100 instead of doing it yourself for $20. I gave that thing 3 minutes before the flat blade screwdriver came out and destroyed it. The new ones snapped right on. Sometimes violence IS the answer 🤬

My 18 still has the factory windshield washer fluid although very little for weight reduction..

I couldn't even tell you where the wiper switch is, I've never used it. My wiper fluid is not factory because I removed the factory fluid and stored it away, along with the factory air from the tires.

Driving a Hellcat in precipitation is a huge sin! .

Perhaps the wipers are high priced because they know that the people that drive in the rain make bad decisions, so they will likely also make bad financial decisions on auto parts?

Mine has been all over the Southeastern US. From Naples FL to North Carolina and into Tennessee. It's a great cruiser.

I changed my Ram blades at 97,000 miles. I win

If it's about keeping the OEM frames, you can always switch out the blades from a cheap complete RAIN-X replacement from Walmart.

I do that with the rear wiper on the Magnum. Sometimes if I switch out the fronts and they still look reasonable, I'll pull out the blade, cut it to size and swap it over on the rear.

I’ve never used the one on the Hellcat. I change the daily drivers every fall. I want pristine blades for the Michigan winter.
