The battery in my 2016 HC Challenger finally bit the dust..(original battery)..when I put it away last October I just hook up a battery tender direct to the battery in the trunk..It could very well have been on the way out when I put it away who knows ...I know more than a few on here have dealt with this...I just don't recall the specifics...the car is on the bottom of the lift with another on top...space is tight..the trunk wont open ...my question is if I hook up a juice box under the hood will it power up the trunk latch..:unsure:...I'm not gonna fuck with it till we get a really nice day..just would like to know what I can expect :unsure:..free donuts for sage advice :giggle::giggle::giggle:;)

I did have to crawl into the damn trunk once with the back seats down. If you are 1/2 still physically ok, it was not bad to pull off.

Forget it then. Good luck with your battery.

If you need a hand let me know. The other hand will have a bourbon though.

My 15 but the dust a few months ago. Walmart special and it’s been great. Power under the hood and you’re good to go. I like French crullers and Camilla cream filled (powered or chocolate frosted)

Yes, a jump box on the front terminals will power the system and allow the trunk to open.

I'm thinking if you let the car sit the battery lasts longer. My 16 went after 5 years. My 13 mustang bought new went 5 years also

Mine's at six years...but I also use a maintainer with desulfation, which might help.

If it dies soon it'll be one of my shortest life batteries, and I care for almost 60 of the damn things.

My 18 Demon I replaced last year...the 16 HC is the original battery...just a little surprised it bit the dust over the winter given the battery tender was on it...but WTF..it lasted 8 yrs....I cant complain...and agreed French crullers are great...I especially love them just outta the fryer freshly glazed and still warm...(they are like candy)..I can down 6 of em like nothin...I get em before they even put them out...one of the perks of bein in Donut Shops all day..and takin whatever I want...:p:p

You mentioned Battery Tenders, but do they have desulfation?

My ‘16 gets put on a Battery Tender Plus five months a year. Original battery is still going strong.

There are surprisingly affordable ones out there. The proven BatteryMINDer, for example, is on sale for just over $20 every now and then.

Even at full price ($40 something) they're a bargain compared to buying new batteries more often.
