A friend is asking if I d be interested in his recently passed away uncles 1997 GTS Viper

He is going to check the mileage which I assume will be under 25,000 Kilometers

I ll like be looking at the car Saturday

He has no idea the value nor do I

Any feedback on 1 of these is appreciated

I have one I bought new..(blue/white stripes)....the 96 brings more money...but with these cars...low mileage means alot..mine has 10,000 miles...doubt I could get what I paid for it.even though it's mint....condition is also huge...(original paint..gouges...scuffs under the front end...my guess..in excellent condition....high 40's/low 50's ...US dollars...

BTW...if you've never drivin one...these cars are raw..(no traction control..no electronic stability control..no nothin)..just you and that big V10...and it's a torque monster..pulls like a locomotive even in top gear...super fun...(different and less refined than a HC)...and will get you in trouble if your not careful...I love it

yep...that it is...but the blue /white stripe combo..is gorgeous...but they don't sound like a V8

One of the coolest aspects is the visual appeal..there are a ton of C8's out there..and most people cant tell a "170" from a 6 cyl Challenger.or even a HC..the Viper GTS is a rare bird...you wont see yourself comin and goin.....(and everybody knows what it is)...little kids will stare and drool..women will disrobe for you @ stop lights...and lesser men..will become impotent in your presense....now do you wanna be a Champ..or a Chump....GO BUY THE CAR

There were five generations of Viper. Each generation was better than the one before. And each generation now costs more than the one before. 1997 falls within the second generation. The second gen was a big improvement over the first gen, but each gen was an improvement over the prior. My brother bought a third gen, because it's a good compromise between price and performance. I think he paid around $60k for his, but that was several years ago.

First gen.....were barbaric ..they did improve immensely with each generation
