When I worked radio, one of our parent companies owned a research firm that did all of our specific radio listening research. In reading the "car giveaway" section, virtually all winners sold the vehicle within days. Because, yes you are on the hook for the sales tax and in some states, the personal property tax upfront. So, if you can't muster up 3 or 4, maybe 5 grand, you can't even tag it to drive it. Suddenly winning a $50,000 vehicle isn't free. 😂

^^^ Don't forget the IRS taxes due & payable on winnings like this. It's counted as 'income' on your taxes (based on retail value). BEFORE you can claim the item they typically want 25%.

Assuming you've got decent credit, you should be able to walk into any bank and say I've got a brand new $100K vehicle, I'd like to borrow $35K against it and walk out with not only really good terms, but also fairly low payments
