The Road...

While I live "in town" there is a state park nearby and a large reserve of land owned by a hospital as well, so there is a lot of empty space around actually (and it all slopes down into a valley - about a 5% grade). There is a large FM a few hundred meters away and "up" slope, essentially seven lanes, two each way, turn lane, and huge shoulders (unlit in this section). Back in another direction, maybe 400-500 meters, is another large road (5 lanes), also with no intersecting streets, about a mile long and lit (only problem is one change of level in the middle, so you can't see from one end to the other). Often times at night, I hear guys in their rides either racing, or just having fun with one car, or a bike. Or both. If I was younger (when I was full of beans), I'd fire up the HC and go find out what is going on. lol, instead, I'll sit here drinking a beer and working.

Still waiting for the new GT500 story...LOL. Sounds like your adventures are more measured as are mine. With kids I don't fool around too much. But, when I was younger my car had 305hp...not 700+. Definitely a different time and different animal with the Hellcats.

I am amazed at what I can tell in the quiet night at a distance from the sounds. I can tell who (I think) is a good driver and who is not; even who is winning and who is not. And I've started to come to the conclusion that the GT500 is a garage queen. After those two sightings that first day I haven't seen him again. :-{

Yes. I've come across so many of those type roads in the Big trk. And usually in the middle of knowhere USA. And some are beautifully paved and smooth. I'm thinking, I wish I was driving my "other" cars about now, not a 80,000 lb trk.

most appreciable tire wear for me..is at dusk..afternoon shift cops are on lunch break...you got about an hour..no cops write tickets right after dinner

Google Earth is a pretty cool tool.

I used it extensively when I bough our last house, among other things, it saved me in the 2013 floods we had here.
