Yep. He has the engine for sale also. About $12k shipping for the 3k parts. Interesting way to record revenue is my guess. I don’t know squat about accounting.

They are doing this to get around the high fees that ebay charges on selling price. That's why the selling price is $1. The fees aren't calculated on the shipping.....at least they didn't use to be.....it was all based on final "selling price".
Ebay has raised their fees to the point that it almost doesn't make it worth it any longer to use them. And if you have to ship something through regular retail channels, it eats up most of your money.

Many people are recommending that I use Facebook Marketplace for some things I'm going to sell, like my drag car. I'm not a Facbook user, so I'll have to check into what it's all about.

^ is correct. In addition to the fact that they also own PayPal so they are grabbing revenue on the exchange of funds. Money Orders used to be permitted but they eliminated that a while back. Craigslist is ok if you can tolerate the potential to be held up.

as an aside to this....I just found out that when you use CoinStar for turning in your coins, that you can select to get an Amazon gift card with your money instead of taking the cash out....and it looks like if you do it this way, you don't pay the CoinStar fee and get 100% of your coin value vs. losing the 12.5% service fee.. Of course.....I realized this after I had just taken my cash for my coins.....but I'll know better next time :)

Selling on Facebook and sites like this is a better way then ebay. Will not stop me from buying on there though

Problem with FB and CL and the like is all the morons and tire kickers who are scanning the posts call and make offers of 1/3 of asking prices. Complete waste of time imo.
