It's better to change it before storing the car, but there might be a good compromise for some elderly and retired people.

You should consider draining the oil in the fall, then adding the new oil in the spring. That'd also keep you busy for two months.
My luck...I'd be afraid I'd forget to put it in in Spring:eek:

My luck...I'd be afraid I'd forget to put it in in Spring:eek:
Not to worry, you cars will give you friendly reminders within a few seconds.

Besides, it couldn't be much worse than dealer oil changes. At least you'd forget to put the correct oil in it.

I typically change the oil once a year or 10K miles.
