So, I pull into this auto shop earlier this week with the HC. As I pull into the bay this young tech is walking up toward the car and he says, "So, you got the V6 or the 396?" At first I thought he was joking, but then



I was just there picking up wheels but damn, if you work in a shop most folks know what a Hellcat is.

I drove by 2 guys who were delivering a Peleton bike to a house... one guy looked up at the car and it took a split second for him to yell to his buddy... Hellcat coming.

A while ago my passanger side badge fell off and I hadn't noticed it yet. One of my customers came in the shop looking at it (lic plate says DVL KAT ) , car looking baddass; says you should have bought a Hellcat. I said it's a Hellcat. He says no, it doesn't have the badge. I hit the remote start and he alsmost fell on his ass.

I find that most people don't have a clue about these cars.

And that's what makes them so appealing to me.
After a debadging, even most of those who do have a clue can mistake them for a lame version.

Took one of the kids friends (in his 40’s) for a ride today in the Redeye. He’d asked what the Redeye was. I showed him.

They won't hear anything out of the ordinary until I'm already half a car length past them.
And by then it's too late.

Besides, most poseurs have the stereo on, and loudly, so until I step on it they may think it's a V6.
And that's exactly how I like it.
