Just picked up a 2021 Hellcat wide body over the weekend. WOW..... what a car...

Have one questions and not sure if I should post it here or main forum... I'll ask and see what happens.

I don't have navigation, asked my dealer about adding it and was told it had to be "ordered" with it from the factory. Simple google search tells me it was pre-loaded on U connect, just needs to be activated.

I believe you can pay to have it activated, you'll probably get an email shortly with an offer to activate it for like $500.

I thought it came with the first year, if a new purchase.

Welcome! Unless it’s changed for ‘21, the previous two posts are correct. FWIW, the nav maps are outdated, expensive to update and a pia to do. If you can use CarPlay, it’s better and free.

The newer ('17+) Uconnect 4C radios with Android Auto and Carplay can't be 'unlocked' for nav like the older versions could. The dealer is right, if Nav wasn't ordered you can't easily add it after the fact.

Of course you could swap the radio out for a unit with Nav, but like jroyk already pointed out, using Android Auto or Carplay for Waze, Google Maps, or Apple Maps is much better and also free.

Told the dealership they were wrong about pre-purchase and they called back and said I was correct.. But the "parts guy" said the navigation was "crap" and cost about 700 bucks. Had a 18 scat pack and with same navigation, no the best but far from crap.

I'll check out car play maps.

They should be updated every year. When I got my '17 Daytona the road behind my house was still not on there. They put the road in 2012. Teresa thinks the roads shows in the '18 but being the nav is off now can't check. I will have to see what the Hellcat shows being it should not be there

@jay fuzz welcome. Post up some pics of that monster in a thread. U-Connect is there, but except for their unilateral updates of some things I don’t ask for, I don’t subscribe to squat, never replied to anything asking me to do anything either, and everything works great without it. I did not order NAV for my ‘19 and CarPlay works great. I am sure if you have an Android, their system works just as good.

Congratulations and welcome from the East Valley in Az. Go with the CarPlay option it’s much better and no map update required ($$$$$).

Welcome. I just let the dealership burn the nav system and or steroe up while changing the oil. At that point,, 3 days later I have an all up dated system. They don't even have to try to do this. And at check out they find it is covered under extended warranty,,, we are all happy. Dayton Andrews in St Pete is the worst.

And yes we do. Like I said be 4 I wait on the dealership to ruin my stuff and replace it before sum 1 notices it's gone. 2 more years after the extended warranty is over,,,, then I will have to pass the damn thang off to a complaintaint dealership. Which is 10 my nu tutes from hea.
