Back in the day I saw the hardware & network requirements for On-star, they were clearly planning to collect HUGE amounts of detailed data !!

Because the next thing they insert is the prohibition of the vehicle to exceed the posted speed limit, as they are about to start in Europe also.

IF I ever own another GM it will be an original 1980 Z28 T-tops, 4spd in blue in as perfect condition as I can find. No Apple car play or Onstar to worry about!

Funny you should say that. A friend of mine had a Z28 just like that (exactly as you describe) and we were cruising in it one night and he looked to his left on the main drag and a pick up slammed its brakes right in front of us and he bumped the truck just hard enough for the dual exhaust to punch two 4" holes in the bumper cover. What a waste.

While he had a few mods, that thing was not nearly as fast as my 280ZX Turbo. Guy later turned into a gigantic 'roid monster, but at that time was just a regular joe.

Speaking of GM and how big they were once - anyone remember when the CEO or President of GM was giving that statement before Congress (if memory serves) and said, "If it's good for GM, it's good for America!" He immediately back tracked and said he misspoke, it was the other way around. (we had this on a record - like vinyl, with grooves - of radio and tv bloopers when I was a kid)
