She might live in my neighborhood! We live in a very nice part of Buckeye.
Litchfield Park, close? Their about 3/4 mile from those stairs that go up the side of the white tanks. This cactus look familiar? 591878CF-3084-4A13-9734-BF88E8ECCE57.jpeg

I havent done the stairs because they're always busy but they are in my neighborhood up against the White Tanks. My neighborhood is called Verrado and is technically in Buckeye.

Litchfield Park is its own separate town but it probably encroaches pretty close to the edge of Buckeye where the stairs are.

These ones? Guess I lied, they're not busy at 3:30 on a Monday when it's 110 out.

They wouldn't have enough beer to keep me alive at such idiotic temperatures.

Would that place get mad if I brought my swim ring and floated around in that pond?

I'd gladly buy drinks. A Frozen Mudslide would go good with a little floatin' and sunnin'.

Yep, I believe that is behind the restaurant at the golf course. Nice patio to sit and have dinner. Minus the 3-4 hot months in the year, this place is quite the hidden gem for families. Otherwise, we spend the other 8-9 months outside almost all day. If it wasn't for this specific neighborhood, we'd probably be leaving in a couple of years but the wife and kids are too happy here.

Sorry - lots of thread jacking haha.

We have a little "downtown" area in our neighborhood. A few mom and pop restaurants, a coffee shop, an ice cream shop, a pharmacy, and a small grocery store.

The grocery store stocks a plethora of booze and it's very clear that we are all like minded haha.

That reminded me of something I heard on Dr, Demento: He's hooked, he's hooked, his brain is cooked.

Just went from Riverside, to Lone Pine, to Panamint Springs, through Death Valley, to Mojave Desert, to Joshua Tree and back home... took a week, with stop overs and sight seeing.

This was in the wife's Jeep TH.

Nothing to worry about, brother.

Look up Star Wars Canyon. Depending when you're there, you may see some low flying action.

soooo during red and green flag etc you are more likely to see acft transiting the area? this sounds like a necessary road trip

I say go for it. It's a strange and desolate drive out there. I've been many times most recently last year in the DSRT, when temps were in the 105-115 range.

Yep, we got a Red Flag coming up too...

But that airspace is always busy it seems. And nobody really controls it very well, so it's a bit of the wild wild west. You show up, make a radio call to let people know your intentions, and then listen up on the radio while scanning for other aircraft with your radar. Sometimes it's just a big deconfliction exercise haha.

The trip is totally worth it.

Aircraft presence is sketchy, on the weekend. Tuesday through Thursday seem like the best days.

A good scanner helps.

There are always people there, who are very helpful.

One word of caution. It can get HOT and very windy. You are on a spine trail hiking out, so be careful.

We'll be heading back, September or October.

If you ever go out there and just want to listen in, the frequency we check in on is public knowledge. A scanner might pick up our aux frequency (interflight) conversation.

On the primary freq, you'll hear what you hear in that video. Who we are, what we are , where we are, and what our intentions are. It's literally just a public announcement for anyone else flying in the area.

If anyone goes out there and wants to know what freq to listen in on, just shoot me a PM.
