There's a recall on them?? I'll have to get mine done. Headlight turn signal went out requirement replacement if the entire headlight, service uconnect box message, and blown rear load leveling shocks
Damn, what on a 2021 R/T?

So far the Durangos have been okay, but we've learned to keep a close eye on the voltage in the '21 TRXs.

No idea what caused it, one day the voltage on mine started out low, maybe 12.8 or so after starting it, then just kept dropping. Was down to 12.2 at one point and that was after noticing that it'd charge on deceleration. And only during deceleration.

Mine seems to have self healed and is happily showing about 14.8 after starting, then going down to 14.2, just like it should be. My girlfriend's isn't as bad, but she came home with 12.6 volts showing the other day, which is too low.

I still haven't figured out what's going on with them.

Not to worry, that's mostly alligator induced damage. You should be fine.

Does your Durango have that second battery for the Start/Stop function???

If so, perhaps the light is for the second battery and not the one you replaced???
That was a good question, because when having to charge the battery in my Charger, it's in the rear trunk.

So I looked up @Paladin06 about the Durango and there are 2 batteries.

It was recommended if you replace one , the other one should be replaced also.
This also came up in the search, but a post about Autozone had them too.

Primary vs. auxiliary battery
  • Primary battery: This is the main battery that provides the power to start the engine.
  • Auxiliary battery: This second battery is specifically for the auto start/stop system. It provides power to the car's electronics, such as the infotainment system and other accessories, during the brief moments the engine is off.
  • Location: The auxiliary battery is typically located elsewhere, such as under the passenger seat, to accommodate the start/stop technology. The primary battery is usually in the engine bay.

That auto start/stop is a real PITA, there are things like that available to 'kill' it !r
My '19 Durango had that stop/start crap. Pulled one fuse (no, I don't remember which one) and disconnected the negative leads on the tiny battery. Done. And for free.

R/ts don't have the start and stop. Primary battery is also under the passenger seat.

No stop start system on our Durango and I would never own any vehicle with that system but, thanks anyway.🥰
