Hmm. I'm not that lucky. As far as I know, none of my vehicles have ever built up good oil temp from just idling. They all seem to need to perform some actual work for the oil to get warm enough. Air cooled engines could be an exception, but since I avoid idling anyway, I don't know for sure...

And what kind of oil temps do you usually see after 20 minutes of idling? Enough to boil off the condensation created by starting the engine cold?

I change the oil and filter, then park it. Put StaBil in the tank, use a good battery maintainer (Pulsetech) every month and a half or so, and that's it. Since I couldn't possibly get the oil up to temp without driving it somewhat hard, there's no way I'd start it unless absolutely necessary...

Poll: To tint or not to tint. That is the question Mopar fans!

Oops, I forgot to mention that I had the top portion of the windshield tinted. That part's okay since I don't care about stop lights.

It can be dangerous in the daytime, too. I tinted the rear side windows and rear window quite dark, but do like to see where I'm going...and more importantly perhaps, see what's behind me in the mirrors. Not all of them run with the radar on.

Who here still likes Hellcat org?

I didn't realize that a vacuum could affect a site's performance. Apparently it can.

What else is in your garage

Okay, OBC, you're officially #2 on it. And, yes, I'll keep the list under wraps. If for no other reason so that my girlfriend doesn't wonder if I'm trying to auction her off or something.

Okay, so how would you get along with horses, and a large dog, Hunter? Since you were the first to respond, I guess you'll be #1 on the list of "Founding adoptees".

You did, OBC. But she's an only child. Maybe I should start a list of potential adoptees in case I wrap my Hellcat around a tree before she does?

What else is in your garage

No, that's not a runner...I took the engine out of it to use in my Jeep-based "tractor". It was smoking quite a bit, which fits a tractor. Besides, the engine originally in the tractor was far too good for the use I had in mind. But now that you mention it, I do have a dedicated "yard art"...

What else is in your garage

I knew I'd forget something. It's a Jeep DJ3A, one of four non-runners on the list. It's been parked "out of the way", and the snow broke some branches right by it, effectively hiding it completely. So here's my version of "Free Willy(s)".

    What dashcam is everyone using?

My ReplayXD has served me well for almost 10 years now. I really like that it's so small and unobtrusive.

And a big hole in the fender.

Dealer hasn’t been draining my oil cooler

C'mon, Mike. Holding one wrench while turning another isn't that hard. And now I can't remember if it looks like there'd be room for a valve. Trusting the valve? My Peterbilt came with one, so it has at least 100,000 miles on it. And that engine costs quite a bit more.

I was going to make my own, but as little as he charges it wasn't worth it.

Dealer hasn’t been draining my oil cooler

I ordered my access panel from James Unz the other day. Wasn't hard at all. But I'll still remove the forward panel every now and then, as it allows taking a look at everything it hides.

Dealer hasn’t been draining my oil cooler

Exactly, since they're very affordable cars, we shouldn't above grabbing some tools ourselves and doing the job right. Of course, if it's "anal retentive" to perform the job according to the instructions, then maybe spending time in a safe zone at the dealer is a better option after all.

Dealer hasn’t been draining my oil cooler

True, it shouldn't be an issue at all. Dodge put a drain there because it should be used. Quite simple, really.

Dealer hasn’t been draining my oil cooler

Well, I don't follow the "demanded frequency of oil changes", but when I do change it, I want to do it correctly. I guess it all depends on what you prefer to worry about.

Next time I'll try pulling the cooler's plug right after the pan's. So far I've done pan, filter, and then the cooler. More oil coming out from the cooler should flush it out better.
