Tow bar mount?

Since my pursuit of an El Camino has ended, I might end up with a cheap Durango instead. It's the right color (Granite) and has the pursuit option.

I've stopped looking for a '68 or '69 El Camino. It dawned on me that some EV fanatic might think that the "El" stands for electric.

Yeah, I never thought about it that way and was surprised to read than a V6 Challenger is quicker than many of the old muscle cars. Had a '91 GM pickup with a 454 which produced a whopping 225 hp.

Good thinking. Start them off with only a little power at first, then once they master some 500 hp you can let them loose with a 'Cat and another couple of hundred. Of course, you could also just give them the black key.

I can relate. Didn't tow a thing with my Durango. Of course, I never drove it, either. That's why I didn't keep it.

Yeah, I became wiser and realized the reality of towing with a 6.4 in a Ram 2500. That's why I have a 3500 with a Cummins now.

Don't you have to be kinda old and settled down to get a 6.4 instead of a 6.2?

It was 10% off of MSRP when she bought her 3500 Cummins as I recall. Might have been some other incentive a $1K, too. Either way, a fair amount of vehicle for the money. I suspect that a 4-door longbed is longer than a mega cab.

That's how it used to be, but I think I could search nationwide last time I was looking for a 3500. Ironically, my girlfriend found a Tradesman locally that she liked. I had dismissed that one as it had all kinds of odd options, like running boards, cab marker lights (on a SRW!) and much other...

I can do without the heated seat, but do like the heated 'wheel. Didn't like it enough to end up with a touch screen in the 3500, though.

These days the Build and Price allows you to see what's out there in a much larger area than in the past. Build one to your liking, including color, and then let the system tell you how many matches or near matches there are.

Thankfully, the cab and chassis models don't seem to be affected by that recall. But keep getting notices about the tailgate for the 1500. Another one that the C&C is safe from.

Wow. That's 2,000 mpg on the DEF. I generally get between 300 and 350. Then again, the regular mpg is hovering around 10, so it makes sense that there's more DEF usage to go with it.

Somewhat related, the only time someone has tried to race me was when passing two diesel pickups on a grade. Guess one of the drivers didn't like being passed. And would you believe that the 'Cat didn't even have to breathe hard to leave that pickup behind? Far behind.

My 3500 isn't driven very often, so far from living in it. On the other hand, when the lowly Tradesman does get used I'm often in the driver's seat for 24 hours straight, sometimes more. You'd think that without 48-way power seats with heating.cooling, and massaging, no telescoping steering...

Less power out of a given displacement usually results in better longevity. And to me, the fewer options, the less that can go wrong. Actually, there are quite a few options (usually included in packages) that I'd pay extra not to have.
