That's unlikely. Probably leaves or maybe the remains of a bird. Either way, the wheel well is cleaner than the wheel...and about as dirty as the front of the car. Yeah, it's peroxide time.

Put the clunky stock wheels back on, to serve as jack stands while I'm mounting new tires on the good wheels. And it does look like the brakes are still in decent shape, at least there's enough left for next summer's driving.

My crystal ball must've informed about my future Peterbilt purchases when I first started driving. Or, maybe it became second nature to be in the correct gear due the hundreds of miles I ended up driving without brakes back then. And again more recently, now with 18 gears to choose from.
