What did you do to your Hellcat today?

I also had nice weather today - rain for a change. Did move the (not really real) Challenger out in the open, so now it's nearly perfectly clean again. Meanwhile the 'Cat is sleeping in the garage, with a layer of dust on it. If tomorrow looks promising for rain, too, then the 'Cat will also...

    Vehicle Health Report Warning

I find those health reports amusing. For example I still get them for a Trackhawk we sold about a year ago. Obviously they had no idea that I changed the oil at 500 miles. It was due for a change when sold, but based on the reports it never got one. Started feeling sorry for it when seeing 14K...

    Hellcat/Redeye Insurance

I have a larger chance of hitting an elk than another car, but must have a better driving record than BULL since I pay about $20 less per month.

Defaults on auto loans at all time highs

Then you may want to check Craigslist, etc. for ones where the seller has realized that they're in over their head and can't fix whatever ails theirs. Oops, forgot to post the above. Anyway, don't call it an "excursion vehicle". That'll make it identify as a Furd, and lead to all kinds of issues.

Defaults on auto loans at all time highs

Those may be running low at the auctions at this point, but that's where I'd start looking. If nothing else, if you look at past sales you'll see what they sold for, and what condition they were in.

Defaults on auto loans at all time highs

Oshkosh Equipment. Foolishly, as it turned out. Paid a premium for getting one that was supposedly all gone through and fully functional, since I really didn't want to spend the time and money to go through yet another ex-gov vehicle. Yes, it came with new seats, a well installed hardtop (for...

    When will people learn?

But the weight savings increase as parts fall off.

    When will people learn?

Ouch. Even I can weld better than that.

    JUNE 2022 HFCOTM

It would be unfair not to give the less fortunate a chance. Besides, aren't everybody supposed to get a trophy these days?

    Hellcat Oil Filter

I will never understand why how much or little oil comes out when draining the cooler matters. Personally, I wouldn't care if no oil came out, since it's the particles in there I want to get rid of, not the so much the oil itself. By the way, for a better flush, drain the cooler before...

    Good bye Destroyer Gray

Okay, so you made one mistake and ordered red. Doesn't mean you can't still love Destroyer Gray.

    Okay, then what happened??

    Redeye vs Hellcat and HP

Oh, yes it will be. You won't have to hesitate about which door to use to get into the driver's seat, for example. And people won't try to flag you down for a ride to the airport.

    Vibration that comes and goes

Regular U-joints and CVs are the same thing, really. Just look at a CV as a really short driveshaft. Anyway, tire unbalance isn't necessarily constant as far as feeling it goes. It can depend on if two tires are "in sync", for example.

    Vibration that comes and goes

Doesn't much matter how many shops have checked them. It takes a competent operator of a Hunter machine with road force that is properly calibrated to get them truly balanced. Which includes turning the Smart Weight setting off.

Defaults on auto loans at all time highs

I dunno. As I recall there are a couple around here, for the old steam locomotive tracks (still operating), and at least one for water.

Let's do it. But you have to bring the tunnel.

Sorry, no scraper or dozer here. Yet anyway.

Defaults on auto loans at all time highs

Much too close for my liking, but not intolerable. Closest house is only about a quarter mile away, but hidden from view by trees. Of course, I can drive to within 60 feet or so (property line) of where the good looking wife sunbathes. Also to the southwest is the next closest, which is...
