I'm Pissed At Stellantis and I'm Not Hiding It Anymore

I really couldn't care less about what they might do in the future. As far as I know I have no stock in Stellantis, and we have enough 6.2s (and other engines) to last us for a while. If/when I need another tow vehicle I might go back to a used Class 8. I miss the Pete.

I'm Pissed At Stellantis and I'm Not Hiding It Anymore

No, I don't. But that wonderful Ecodiesel doesn't seem to be far behind, if at all. Of course, they come in 1500s, so two wrongs apparently doesn't make a right.

I'm Pissed At Stellantis and I'm Not Hiding It Anymore

Never had and never will have an Alfa Romeo. But I'm glad they produced our Challengers, Rams, and Trackhawks. Maybe even the Durango, but I don't know about that one yet.

    Stellantis Recalls Over 175K Vehicles

If an Ecodiesel stalls, that's probably a good thing. When the engine isn't running it can't become part of the regular 15% failure rate on those fine engines.

    Dodge Redeyes

Considering how many car part transporters seem to crash in that part of Canada, it's a small miracle that they can produce any vehicles at all.

    Stellantis 1st Q Sales

It's very common for them to be missing on the ones sold at auctions, so they're quite proud of the new ones. Making one would've been fun, but probably beyond my capabilities if it had to look somewhat like the original. Very thick steel to work with, too. Did the lazy thing and bought a...

    Stellantis 1st Q Sales

That was ahead of my time, too. Have one Postal I put together years ago, now with 4WD, under hood welder and compressor, winch, etc. Quite a useful little machine. Anyway, realized that these days I mostly make money on vehicles the lazy way. Recently made 10K on a Unimog I parked in the...

    Stellantis 1st Q Sales

For the most part, basically just buying something for what I knew was a good price, then fixing whatever mechanical ailments they might have had and sell them for a decent profit. It does help when you can honestly say "Yes, everything works". In one case I'd bought a '65 Cadillac because I...

    Stellantis 1st Q Sales

I didn't have to buy cars for a living, but buying them and fixing them up was an easy way to double my income for a few years, To eat, and pay the bills.

    Opinions on windshield tint

Wouldn't really need any help with light glare since I might meet two vehicles in 75 miles around here at night. And I must admit that I didn't see a whole lot of elk at night (maybe two or three herds per trip) until getting better lighting. Then it became obvious that I probably had missed...

    Opinions on windshield tint

I think a fair amount of them made it over here.

Those sod poodles can move quite well, too. Especially when being shot at.

Is that shooting 12-foot alligators, or prairie dogs?

Your Ram Might Catch On Fire

That connection can only go bad when the grid heater is used, which is easy enough to avoid. I disconnected mine years ago, when this first started to become a known issue. As it turned out, I don't need the grid heater here, either. At least not if it's -10 or warmer (the lowest temp I've...

    Opinions on windshield tint

Hmm. So the elk and deer are easier to spot with a tinted windshield? But maybe it's a regional thing. Our wildlife doesn't have any lighting whatsoever. Not even basic reflectors.

    Opinions on windshield tint

It's not really a privacy thing, I just like having things "enclosed" behind me. Windshield and two side windows is all I want. Like on the Pete. A 2-door delivery is close to ideal for me, but they don't make those anymore, so I have to work with what I have.

    Opinions on windshield tint

I do. But only on the windows behind the (two) doors. There I usually have them use the darkest tint they have...over already deep tinted OE glass. Heck, I've painted the glass black (on the inside) on some vehicles. Looks like an expensive limo tint, but cost only a few bucks.

    Opinions on windshield tint

I did the mistake of letting the tint outfit do the side windows on one car. Not overly dark, but dark enough to make it really hard to spot a cop car at a distance in the mirrors. Of course, driving slowly to car shows is a bit different from doing twice the speed limit on fun roads. I don't...

Your Ram Might Catch On Fire

Then it can't be the grid heater relay that's the issue. All that stuff is under the hood. Hmm, the only fire related recall I can find for Ram diesels is indeed the grid heater relay. You'll see it towards the rear of the right side inner fender. And the cable between it and the battery. If...

Your Ram Might Catch On Fire

C'mon. Disconnect the cable for the heater relay from the battery and you won't have any fire risk. You can always put it back on before going to the dealer for the the fix when that day comes.
