Oh, I really like driving the 'Cat. It's my favorite car. My only regret is not buying one sooner.
It's just so satisfying to floor it when occasionally catching up with another vehicle (usually doing 70 mph or less), wait for a chance to pass it, then listen to the glorious exhaust notes...
I only "race the GPS".
Okay, not really, but it is fun to see the estimated time of arrival get beat by up to 40%. Curvy roads are what I like, and the occasional 60-120 spurt just for kicks. Where the road's straight enough to allow it.
Have "raced" another vehicle with the 'Cat once. That...
Well, I have to put anti-gel in the tanks of the diesels. Costs less than buying an EV, a lot less, and that simple addition makes them work even when it's cold.
I'm doing okay with a 15KW. Could've got an 18 for only a few hundred more, but after looking at the fuel consumption difference at half load, the smaller one seemed like a better choice.
I may have up to 1,600 gallons in tanks, but could also be down to under 1,000 at times (not counting about...
As DavidKFla pointed out, there's normally no part of a house that can be charged. Instead (and even I knew that), some can be used to provide a bit of power to a house.
Seems like the new buzzword is "charging", which may make some EV owners, or potential ones, feel better about it.
And they...
Haven't bought a vehicle within the state for a long time. Sometimes they've been only 300 miles away, other times 1,300+.
This trailer was some $8K cheaper than the local dealer (150 miles from here) wanted and it will be a long day to go get it 800 miles from here, but worth it.
Might become...
I have no problem with keeping more of my money, but prefer to do it by being self sufficient - fixing and building things myself, for example, instead of paying others.
Or. like earlier this week, getting nearly $10K off on a trailer I ordered. Technically I will affect the state a bit since...
They do. Like Hawaii, the whole place is still growing thanks to the volcanoes. And they provide heating for much of the population, through hot water, not the lava.
That'd be far easier in many ways, but I couldn't deal with the heat.
Iceland could be interesting, but...they apparently only have one nice twisty road, and it has a low speed limit.
You already knew the answer.
I fled Europe, and then California, to get away from that kind of crap, but it's spreading. Ironically, it seems that when it comes to the "green" crap (and some other things), Europe has seen the light and is backpedaling on the issues.
Would've never thought it...
If someone doesn't pay sales tax on something, someone else (or a group of people) will have to make up for that.
You are costing other people money, no matter what you want to call it. Subsidy works for me, and probably most others.
