I'm absolutely no Tesla fan but the 2026 roadster is a nice looking car with some impressive specs. However, it should be for a starting price of $200K!

Idk, part of the fun is getting a car with a solid platform at a reasonable price and making it faster

Plaid starts at "$86,090". Local guy has one, does consistent 9.1's in the 1/4.

Would I like to drive one through the 1/4? YES!

Would I like to own one? NFW!

But that’s all it’ll ever do. Ever

Back in the day, I looked at new 280’s, but ending up buying a used 240, very impressive for a 6! My friend had a Formula 350 that he added a 4bbl to. One night I was following him to (I don’t remember, a bar probably) and at the passing zone I jumped on it and blew right by him! He flipped out, gaining on me, pulled into the oncoming lane to pass, he was creeping up to my rear bumper and oncoming headlights appeared, we were maybe 120. He was so angry he did not back down, he was ready to play chicken with the oncoming headlights! I backed down and let him go.

Later he did some serious mods, guess he just couldn’t live with a 350 that could barely keep up with a stock 6! :ROFLMAO:

Mine was tuned a bit by a Datsun guy. It was a super fun car.

Except they didn't do well on salted northern roads. They were biodegradable!

I was Delaware. Never had a rust problem.

I can believe that. But what about the car?

This is me 100%. I want to give the Plaid (or Lucid Air) a rip a couple times. But then I’d be done.

0-60 in under 2 seconds has to be a blast!

Yeah, but wouldn't being 0.34 seconds quicker in a Challenger be more fun yet?

Honestly I never could get a good launch out of my Challenger on the street. I’d argue at 3,200 feet the TRX is as fast as a narrow body Hellcat from 0-60 if not quicker.

Well, they claim 1.66 seconds with a D170.

While I haven't tried, I seriously doubt that a TRX would better that. Especially when 4.5 seconds seem to be the time for normal ones.

In the right condition you can see 0-60 times in the TRX in under 4 seconds. Quick for a truck, but not sub 2 seconds quick!

The car is probably in better shape than I'm in these days, if it still exists.

The one and only ride I've had in a Tesla was not a plaid but a S 90, maybe? Had Ludicrous mode. Unbelievably quick from a dig. All I could think about was the contacts on the controller welding closed and the thing not stopping. Now, I'm sure the controller is using something other than contacts, like an SCR, etc, but you get my drift. At least in an ICE car, you can turn off the key, throw it in neutral or park, maybe still have juice brakes to drag the thing down.....................

Who is going to buy an unproven EV when there's so many proven ones available? They're not selling worth a damn.
