So, I like the looks of it a lot better than the boring Tesla models that just look like a manila folder. I like the back a lot better than the front, and I like the modern spin on the Chrysler logo.
However, where I start to get concerned, is it's sounding more and more like they're trying to make these entertainment/meeting/life style products. You're driving a car, you shouldn't be watching movies or having video conference calls. And you can FORGET me letting a car drive me around. I need to be in control of the vehicle.
If this is what people are moving toward, why offer cars at all? Offer a "mobility service" where someone drives you, or the car does it for you, whatever, and you can watch a movie, play games, have meetings, whatever you wanna do that is everything but focusing on piloting a 2 ton missile down the road.
People already have a hard enough time with just a cell phone in the car with them.
And it's a pet peeve of mine for them to sell this as "clean mobility". Is it really? I'd love to see some stats on that considering you still have batteries that must be produced and disposed of, rubber tires, brakes, paint, steel, assembly and all that goes with it. Not to mention all the nickel that gets mined to make the batteries. I recently saw a news report on the danger to the tropical rain forest in Peru due to Tesla asking to expand nickel mines in that region. When taking all of that in to consideration, how different is the foot print to the planet for EV vs ICE over say a 7 year ownership period?
