I thought of the Canadian members this morning watching this @Hpindy @Markp and especially @Bowtie Guy being it was an El Camino which growing up I always wanted one.

Shows great. Makes me laugh and they seam like real world guys. Some of it is ridiculously under done and butchery but it's still good car entertainment.

Yup. I watch as well. Good program, good characters and the projects are pretty neat.

I watch it as well, I have a little bit of a hard time when they destroy repairable muscle cars, but it's usually entertaining.
I think the difficulty comes with always wanting certain cars, so I always see in my head where they could be with a little time, effort, and of course money, and I see another car that will probably be taken out of circulation... another one bites the dust.

I've always liked having a nice vehicle, and then one that's a total beater. That's why I like Roadkill, as the beater part appeals to me.
And if you corner Freiburger, he just might admit that my Jeep helped plant the beater seed in him.

I will admit having a hot rod thats not "too nice" is an advantage. All of the toys prior to the Hellcat were purpose built - meaning I started with a less desirable car - 318 Barracuda vs a Cuda, or base Challenger vs an R/T, and I built what I wanted. When you put enough time, sweat, and money into a build you get a little protective of it and it may affect your putting it out there on the street. To combat this I built my version of a beater, something thats driveable but not so nice it wouldnt crush you if it was wrecked (yes -I get attatched to my toys). So I understand the beater concept.

So far my 'Hawk hasn't even been driven in rain. And we're supposed to get a fair amount of snow now.
If I need to go somewhere, that car will get brutally deflowered.

I know, it was bought for the purpose...but it still hurts a bit even thinking about it.

Love Roadkill. Funny as hell. They do things I was doing as a teenager in the 80's.

Just going to plant the seed, I know a guy with a very nice '67 El Camino SS396 that he is going to sell soon. Let me know if you want more details...
