Lucky Bastard. I have no problem falling asleep but the gagging and gasping for air was ruining my quality of sleep . I sleep 8-10 hours a night and I figured I was getting enough but it turn out the quality of sleep was the problem . Quality over quantity.

Supposed to.
Cannot.
EVERY time I put it on, it wakes me up, as I always focus on my breathing....

It took me about 2 weeks to get use to it . I almost gave up but I was at my wits end.

Tried.
For a couple years.
Sleep study said I was waking up over 70 times an hour.

I'm not doubting you . I know a few people who gave up on it . I was just curious what other peoples experience was .

In yet another instance of neglecting to realize my own mortality Ive still yet to make the move. I prefer to leave it up to my wife to “nudge me alive” as she always says. Sort of letting nature take its course I guess. I know plenty of guys who swear by them though.

Yup. I need silence and darkness to sleep. Apparatus strapped to my face seems like quite a distraction.

I've been using one since the mid 90's, without a doubt has quite literally saved my life (physically & professionally) !

My only struggle has been the masks, most of which leak and are a real PITA. Finally stumbled on the Respironics Profile Lite, but of course, they got cancelled years ago.
Have scoured the interwebz since then, scooping them up when I can. Bumped into some dude on eBay that had 2 (still in OE packaging) in some box of medical stuff he bought at some auction just this spring.
Will be a miracle if I ever find any more & I'm not sure what to try after my current supply is gone.

The mask DOES make a huge difference in how comfortable and unobtrusive it is to sleep with one.

I don’t need one thank God. I probably turn over a half dozen times a night to keep my back comfortable. I’d likely strangle myself with the hose.

I completed the sleep study and it determined I stopped breathing 56 times in 6 hours. I tried the machine and got even less sleep. I turned it back in. :-(

They don't work well for me, my pressure setting is too high (13).
