Vibration auto mode

Brand new 2026 rt 392 durango with 200 miles. When in auto mode I am getting a vibration when the car is switching back and forth from 4cylijder to 8 cylinder from the MDS. IN sport mode it doesn’t do it. Is this normal ? I do feel like I am getting rough shifts and some minor clunking on any mode in driveline Maybe it’s in my head.

Yep. Exactly how I describe the MDS system working on my 392. Sport mode turns it off.

Except for that I do not have any other complaints. Great running machine. Just drove it today.

Turn eco off. It’s just lugging at lower rpm’s but in too high of a gear. It’s kind of like driving at 25mph with a manual transmission in high gear. It really needs to downshift.

He is not describing ECO mode. It does this in normal auto mode as it does the MDS switch to 4 cylinders. It has so much torque you can be real light on the throttle and climb hills in four cylinder mode! But it has a bit of a vibration.

There's no 'ECO' button on the 392's like the 5.7's have . You have to put into Sport mode (or get a tune) to kill the MDS nonsense.
I had the same issue (and hated it) with the MDS on my '23 DDSRT & thought it was just me being picky.

When a few here seemed to indicate they did not notice it with the '26's I held out hope Dodge had made it less intrusive, but apparently not.
That issue alone is enough to keep me from buying one

Never owned one...(glad I didn't)...seems like quite a few..(all variants),,can be a major PITA

Oh and speaking of PIA. These are not cheap to keep nice either. I made a big mistake and did not wrap the front of the big rock crusher. I want it to look good again.

Suppose I want the front good as new including one about 1/2” dent on the front of the hood and one $225 paint-less dent on the side? About $3,800! We all know a good wrap on the front will be say about $1,500. Yep, a $5k correction 30k miles and three years.
