Just finished watching Trans Am race at Road America. Winner was Grala driving a SRT Challenger and fiffh was Boris Said also in a SRT Challenger. What happened to the “superior” Corvettes and Mustangs you might wonder? How could the SRT boats beat them?
SRT Viper also won in different class driven by a woman.

I saw something about it the other day and didn't even know the Challengers were in it

Albeit modified but aren’t they all? As far as I could tell there were four Dodge entries. Grala led flag to flag.

Radford instructors opened my eyes about the capabilities.

The TA cars are a long way from our street cars. But those long straights and big corners do help us when we lap there also. That course is a lot of fun. But, you really need to watch the brakes on RA, you get too serious and consistently brake at maximums and any type of pad will vaporize quick. To remain on that track all day with one of our cars and not need to change pads means you have discovered a compromise between max effort hot laps and preserving your brakes by unfortunately lifting a bit early on the big straights at RA.
