Tar removal after track day

If your like me and don not tape off the area behind the rear tires at the track found that this works very well on cleaning it up , it says wait a minute but I leave it in for like 10 minutes then it wipes right off and and the shine is great too the lower plastic area comes clean as well

I use painters tape , pull off after racing & its clean , high pressure wash the inner fender wells when I wash the car.

With my hellcat sticker the tape try’s to pull it off so I don’t use the tape anymore but the painter tape works for sure , I’ve had some say spray Pam on the rear quarter

There's a lot of places that offer it online. I just ordered some and some Track Armour tape to try next year. I got my first damage to my clear bra on the front fascia at my last event. I need to see if the heat gun healing works.

Buy this stuff to spray before racing. Doesn't hurt the paint, and allows you to hose off those rubber nubs rather easily.



You can buy it from Amazon, or Jegs, or many other places.

I ceramic coated my car, so a power washer gets the nubs off easily without having applied anything. I use the Geddex on my wheel liners, to make cleaning them easier. You can also use Mothers "Back to Black" ...just apply it early enough so it dries before hitting the track.

After reading this, I got some Mothers R3 to clean the runner off the rear quarters. I didn't even know there was such a thing. The Mothers worked amazingly well. Spray it on, give it a minute, wipe with a towel. If there is any rubber remaining, do it again. It worked very well on the splash guards, making a black puddle on the floor as liquified the the tire rubber stuck to them.

I just used WD40 to remove the burnt rubber. Sprayed it on and let it sit for 10 minutes. Then wiped off. Its a messy job however - i'm going to try some tape prior to our next outing. Anyone try tracwrap? I saw a video on youtube and it looks promising.

I leave it on

For multiple races

I pressure wash it clean.

It's inconspicuous.

Looks new underneath.

I purchase one roll of each.

6"×40' and a 4"x20'. I use the 4" for the black

Plastic.

I also purchase a soft blue micro fiber

Rag they sell to complete my order.

I'm getting better at installation.

You can hardly see the tape after

Its been washed and dried It really clings to

the car.

If it's been on awhile and it's cold out.

Heat it with a hair dryer it peels off like

Bananas.

+1 on the Trac Wrap. Had it on for a week while I waited for the clear bra appointment. You can hardly tell it's there unless you have it on for more than 3 days.
