Of course, “quick action” is a relative term as a 2019 study from the Highway Loss Data Institute found the theft rate for Chargers and Challengers was more than five times higher than average. It’s also worth mentioning a number of thefts are happening in the company’s own backyard as more than 1,000 Chargers were stolen in Southeast Michigan last year.

Im gonna have to write an email to Dodge again. This flies in the face of the security research I did about two things. 1. Access to their internal key tools and the chain of custody (or lack thereof) and 2. The key fob being notoriously easy to replay against. I will not be entering a pin everytime I enter the car. Right now I cant even get my infotainment to switch between 500 and 700 hp modes correctly after the last update. :mad:

Guess I'm skeptical.....seems like these car thefts have been going on for quite a while now with no reply from Dodge until now.

- Makes me wonder if they are truly concerned about the "Brotherhood" thing, or are the insurance companies jacking up rates, which in turn might hurt future sales of their Hellcat models....

Guess we'll take whatever help us current owners can get.....

Next step I suppose - Dodge will have to text you a challenge code to enter every time you need to start the car.
Microsoft MFA I usually only have try it about 3-5 times before it works.

My concern is I take it to the dealer then the tech see's I don't have any updates. Then they update everything. Which takes my tune out for my 2.85 pulley and 775 injectors.
