So, this happened on my 6.1 Hemi. Seems like they are using the same poor quality rubber, for this purge valve boot, on the Supercharger.

What we're looking at is the slow deterioration of the rubber boot. It literally falls apart. Mine is mushy and very thin, in places. When I saw this part is a hold over from the 6.1 and 5.7 Gen1 vehicles, I knew I had to fix it, on my Hellcat.

I ordered a Taylor silicone 90 (8mmx7mm)... removed the old boot and slid this one right in its place. The 8mm side goes on the supercharger and the 7mm side accepts the plastic purge valve line.

Easy peasy and looks way better than that crappy rubber boot.

You may want to use a small blast of silicone spray, to aid installation. The plastic line can be difficult to install, dry.

TAYLOR Part Number: 46201

I had to buy a 25 pack, so if you think you need one... hit me up and I'll send one your way. Just pay Priority Mail shipping.

Hope this helps.

Damn, the OE boot looks like it came off a 20 year old car !
I'll have to check mine & see if it is rotting away.

Yeah... fuel vapor eats away that rubber, real quick.

The silicone rubber boot is high heat and won't swell, or leak. It goes on pretty tight.

There is a paint made by Armacell espicially made for rubber. Not to in- depress any one but I could have made thst for $10 in 15 minutes. I believe you can purchase this finish at Laowe or homo depot. ask for rubber finish. It comes in bright white but can be tented at any color for free at the store. Inexpensive. Will last forever. The weather and heat broke down the out side and deteriated the rest. Heat and water will do that from the out side. The finish will keep that from happening. Insulators union local 67 insulating chillers with Armaflex for 30 years. As a prostitue from Cost Rica said,, I know my rubber.

Looks like the rubber on your a/c unit sitting in the sun for years. If not coated it just rots. I have covered some chillers at Disney and coated and they look as good as 30 years ago. That is why when these dudes came out with the chiller idea with 5 gal of fluid from the trunk,, very bad idea. That is when I suggested coming off the a/c unit with very little piping, 3 tees, 4 90's a low voltage switch and an extra 1.5 lb of gas. Never heard another word about it. Getting ready for double knee operation, so off the shine for a while.

Well that sucks (having to lay off the shine) especially the way things are going. Hope the surgery goes well & you're back to the jug in no time !!

Thanks. After 3 knee replacements before 58 and 5 busted back discs, this should hurt but more shine and pills. Want be driving a six speed for a while. Get it servised and ceramic coating done and be laid up for a while. Next door neighbor just ordered a 2020 Roush mustang and fixin to have hip surgery. Shine time and computer time. Being in Florida, strawberry shine is in time. Coming from Mexico, cheap but good. Blueberrys are in from up north, should be good. Me and the cats.

But since you have them , I'll take 1 for a back up just in case.
PM sent.

All orders bagged and ready to go.

Processing later this afternoon and will go out, tomorrow.

Thanks guys!

Also, if you're fancy, I've found them in red, dark blue, black, orange, light blue. I'll post links, if you guys are interested. I really don't want to re-sell these things. Just trying to help out.

Bob

Well, very nice Bob, but like I said last night if this material is not treated it will fail. Not to say Bob's are treated or not but the break down is from the out side of the elements. Now with the different colors Bob is supporting means they have been coated for different colors. I wood go with shar truse. Good Bob?? Youz guys are holding up my new venture with the cat eyes.
