New PB after 2.85 Upgrade

Went to HRP last night for the first time with the 2.85 TBA pulley. The track was down more than we ran (frustrating) so I only got 2 passes in but to my surprise , it ran a 9.881 right out of the box . The 2nd pass it went 9.998 & on the data log it showed why- I was waiting on the other car to stage too long & I was on the rpm's too long & the BOV was open on the launch.
The DA was -170 , 54* / 79% on the 1st pass. It does have some more in it I'm sure.

congrats man! i need to look at over forum members posts more often. fun to get that 9. what is a bov? are you leaving it in drive or putting in in manual?

Thanks , yeah it was fun to get that 9 , BOV = Blow Off Valve , I'm in auto drive.

Thanks Jim, I was surprised it did 9.8's on the 1st pass , I would have been happy with 10.0's , ok maybe not LOL. I wish I could have gotten in a couple more passes but we'll see how much more it has while the DA is decent the next time.

It would be great if you could run in less humidity at that da.

I think he’s referring to the bypass valve, which is on the back of the blower. A blow off valve discharges air to the atmosphere, a bypass valve keeps it within the system because it is metered air. It’s just terminology... so don’t go asking your local tuner shop for a BOV for your Hellcat.

You are correct sir, you explained it much better than me , but it's in the front of the blower , in the top of the snout & lid.

Yeah, sorry, said back of blower because that’s where the bypass is on the Whipple - which is why you have to clearance the wipers - and wrote it on here like a dummy.
