I have always found the FCA launch control sorely wanting. So, the Dodge website now says:

Launch Control — Holds the engine at optimal launch rpm and waits for the driver to release the brake. Launch Control then uses engine torque management to optimize wheel slip for maximum acceleration

And this is a true statement. Dodge Launch Control maximizes wheel spin. Optimized for wheel spin. I think they were meaning "minimize"....

I would agree.....optimized wheel spin. My 1320 had no problem spinning the factory drag radials well past the 60ft. no matter how much I aired them down. Pretty disappointing.

LC is definitely useless on the street. Never tried it on the strip. Anyone know if it's worth a shit there?

There's always too much running through my head to try it.

At the track it takes your mind off concentrating on tach. Makes of consistent launches (on full tree) You can get caught sleeping on a pro tree.

Agreed. My 60fts became hot garbage. Tried it on 3 different days since track prep varied but all at same track.

I even thought it was terrible when I had my 15 GC SRT. I got better launches foot braking it.

Have not tried Launch Control or Line Lock yet! 6000 miles and counting....that is what I think of it. Both buttons waste good rubber.

I tried it, spun every time. More of a gimmic than useful. I feel Power braking to 1500-1600 RPMS is where it is at and helps pre-load the drive train. 20PSI in the tires and you will be smiling ear to ear after a good launch.

I just used it for the first time on the street and with mixed results.. but still playing. So far, with the settings of: Trans in Track, Suspension in Street and TC in Track, I've had pretty decent results comparatively to just sending it. I've increased the launch RPM to 2,200 from 1,800.

For stop light playing, so far, better than just a foot brake

Interesting. I have always found it detracted greatly from the speed / time even on street launches.

Launch control... that’s when I roll the car out for about 1.5 seconds on the street at about 18-20mph then mash the pedal. Pretty much 3.5-3.6 every time on 10.5 Michelin ps4s 0-60.. I don’t get what’s so hard? On the street Unless your on DOT I personally think footbrake or pre-loading the engine results in wheel spin. It’s better to just feather the pedal for 2 seconds then floor it in Second gear using paddle shifters..

Now on a drag strip.. sure makes sense to me.. preload the engine.. yahdee yahda.. on the street you got to get some momentum into these wheels/tires before they hook up especially with the sheer weight of our cars being mostly in front then shifting the balance when we accelerate.. I’ve noticed even doing burnouts on my nittos 555r2 on the street doesn’t help it gain traction.. I got to manage my foot to get those 3.2-3.4 seconds 0-60. If I try to stomp it even half gas out of the hole it results in like a 3.7-3.8 0-60.
