Guess I need new cats and oxy sensors with reflash. How many of you guys have had it done and how did the car run after? Got me skeered to take it in. I don't trust dealer techs.

Can you have this done and they NOT reflash your PCM? Or if there is no choice could I put my stock PCM back in and just let them reflash it?

As someone that had to suffer cause of this, avoid.

I’m tuned and don’t need problems that’s for sure. Yea, I’ll be avoiding this, I can’t see how it’s going to improve emissions and performance at the same time, those 2 don’t usually go hand in hand ?

I did a deep dive into the tune after the flash and all it does is change the throttlebody and start and stop, the cats are bigger than stock or what was before the recall so I think the engine breathes better, And you get a whole new set of O2 sensors. If I were you I would get the new mechanical parts but tell them not to flash the PCM. If you have to put a cap on your OBD2 port. That is if you must have this done, otherwise ignore.

I’m still running my stock cats and all O2 sensors that was one of my wonders are the new ones larger cats? Sounds like they are? Now that might make a performance gain, I’ll be up for them. I have a 2016 haven’t gotten a recall notice yet?

I think it has to be reflashed as the new sensors will need different programing. When we change solenoids in the transmission, the values are different and need to be programed to the new specs.

Wondering if the RE's have the bigger cats already. I got an engine light at about 870mi and then an E-mail from FCA I had a cat problem and should bring in right away, but NOT a recall. Drove on black key and went away. Been on red key before and ever since and hasn't been back and no further notice from FCA.
Was just under car yest doing the oil cooler access panel install and gave a good look see all under car. Noticed the cats; they didn't look any larger than normal.

I got the letter and threw it in the garbage. My car is running strong not letting them touch it.

I'm more afraid of inspection. Can they pass it if it has an emissions code? even if engine light isn't on?

Mine was inspected three weeks ago. No issues at all. I wont address this recall unless I fail.

So glad there are no emissions testing and/or requirements where I live. What a complete waste of time and money.

How are you doing the oil cooler access on a RE when they have the brake cooling hardware in the way. Is there a new access panel for the redeye?

No. I replaced it with standard Hellcat lower panel, then put it in. I originally didn't do it for that, just don't believe in the air ducts functionality. (There's a whole thread on that somewhere awhile back). Wasn't gonna do the cooler access kit either because taking the pan off wasn't that much of a bother to me, then said... eh wtf why not try it.
