Your correct...even 4" is somewhat marginal..but then I have a tendency to over engineer all of my projects..I have a 2 post lift..and a single post cantilever lift...both rated for 6000 lbs...my garage floor 6.5" thick..and floor to celing 10 ft 6 in….and I was on site for the pour..and inspite of this...still walk around them with cautious enthusiasm as hunter would say...
