After five years i'm finally getting around to tuning the Hellcat.
Josh at HHP is doing the tune.
I went for a 2.85 litens pulley, Demon injectors and a 180 degree stat. I am only running your equivalent of 93 pump gas, nothing special.
So I thought it was a good idea to get a base dyno run done first prior to the mods so we know where we are prior to the tune.
It was the plus side of 90 degrees today so not the ideal day to dyno the car.
The Diablo Trinity 2 is a ball ache to work with and we ended up with a check engine light this afternoon that has hopefully cleared.
I'll take it for a run tomorrow.
I know dyno runs are subjective but quite pleased with the result.
Two weeks today we will be back to this dyno for a post mod run and we will see what we end up with.
Josh is going to do a remote tune

Wow, that's weird. Considering people say drivetrain lose is anywhere from 10-20%, flywheel #'s are useless imo. Wheel horsepower is all I care about

Is your HC totally stock?
I’ve read other articles that say stock will dyno RWHP around 640-650 HP

Yes totally stock save for the Toyo R888R tyres that got pretty sticky on the rollers

dyno's are different and are only a tool. Nice to use to see before and after numbers after making changes. I will be looking forward to the after numbers

My stock dyno run was 640 HP. What was the DA like in that area? How was the humidity? Also what was the cooling like in the shop, hopefully they had a big ole fan blowing at your front.

I have no idea what the da or humidity was. It was a hot day for the UK and most of the UK is not much above sea level. Yes a bloody big fan. They carry out a lot of Mclaren tuning which is why I wanted to use their dyno

That's pretty normal. When I had my '18 it dyno'd about the same in Florida heat.
I was told by AJ Hemituner himself you could see a 50hp difference on a Hellcat from a 40 something degree day to a 90 something degree day, maybe more, when he tuned my Magnuson blown SRT8 a few years ago.

I thought I would just update this thread and say a massive thank you to my good friend and tech Liam for his perseverance in removing the pulley from the supercharger. What a S O B it has been. The bolt inside the snout backed off making it a real task to remove the original pulley. It was a real head scratching moment in trying to determine how to get this off without damaging anything. In the end Liam used red thread lock on the bolt. Let it set for 18 hours to make sure it had fully cured. He tackled it again this afternoon. Just at the point he thought the bolt would loosen again the pulley gave up and he had won the battle. I had been fretting all day waiting for his phone call.
So we have the start up tune from Josh at HHP.
I have a 2 hour dyno slot booked this Friday at 9am EST to carry out a remote tune with Josh.
If everything goes well then I might try and run it again at Kendrew Barracks on Saturday.
They have another event on the 1.2 mile runway.
Does anyone bother taping the gaps on the hood.
If so what tape would you recommend that won't damage the paint.
I have some low tack black masking tape which I placed over the leading edge of the hood but most of it came off on my first runway run last time.
Keeping everything crossed that it all goes to plan.
I'll post up the numbers on Friday :)

Your dyno numbers are in metric... that's why it's lower than what these guys expected :p

(really though, why isn't it in newtons?)

It could have been but I requested the torque figure in ft lb

That is why you should always use SAE. Would make no sense to dyno a car in the summer, change a part and do it in the winter. The HP numbers you picked up could all be from the colder weather
